I had been curious about this restaurant’s lunch specials for a while, so I finally decided to visit. I arrived right at opening time, 11:30 AM. I was only given the regular menu at first, which made me wonder whether they still offered lunch specials—but it turns out they do, which was good to know.
Since I love naan, I asked if I could substitute the rice that comes with the lunch curry for naan instead, but unfortunately, substitutions weren’t allowed. That was understandable, so I ended up ordering the lunch curry and an additional order of garlic naan.
After I paid, the staff member mentioned that it would take 25 minutes, which caught me off guard, as I was on my lunch break and would have appreciated knowing that before paying. I wasn’t sure why it would take that long because I was the first customer —perhaps because they bake the naan fresh, heat the curry, or take time to prepare it authenticall. However, in the end, the food was served after about 10 minutes, which was surprisingly quick. That said, it also made me wonder whether any steps might have been skipped in the preparation—though that’s only my personal impression.
One thing I found a little frustrating was that, even though I clearly said I was dining in, and I had a seat, I was asked “take away?” three times. It made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Also, when the food arrived, there was no spoon—only a fork and knife. I’m not sure if that’s the usual setup for eating curry, but as someone who doesn’t visit Indian restaurants often, I found it confusing and a little inconvenient.
I tried a dish I don’t usually order. The lamb was a bit dry, although the overall flavor was good—it just didn’t meet my expectations. As for the garlic naan, I noticed that not all of the pieces had garlic on them. The last piece at the bottom of the plate had none. Perhaps I made the staff feel rushed, and that affected the final result—but I can’t be sure.
I might return in the future to try my usual dish and see how...

Read moreThis place was very very disappointing, I was expecting a lot better. We ordered traditional Dahl with medium spice level, this was the hottest Dahl I have ever had in my life, it was so hot I couldn’t even taste the Dahl and it tasted like crap. I like to eat jalapeños straight from the jar and I put siracha sauce on a lot of my meals so I have a very high tolerance for spicy foods, but this was completely inedible - I had to chuck it out. Secondly the vegetarian biryani was rubbish, it had no flavour and we ordered this with mild spiciness but it tasted more like a medium heat level - at least it was edible unlike the Dahl. Thirdly, the samosa flavour was alright, I’ve had a lot better - I ordered this with medium spice but it was very mild, way less spicy than the biryani. Lastly, we ordered cheesy garlic naan bread which was not cheesy at all and it was also wrapped with the garlic naan so we had no idea which was which. I hope whoever owns this place reads this as you lack quality control and consistency. I just won’t be ordering from here again as there is a complete lack of consistency when it comes to spice levels and also the food lacks flavour. I’ve had much better Indian from...
