I've been a gym goer for years and as I have aged, I wanted a gym that was more in line with my needs. Elossa listens to you, they assess you before you begin.
Classes are small and I see one instructor per six people on the floor, watching, adjusting and reviewing people.
The place is clean, air conditioned, no blaring music but lovely easy-going music.
The circuit has 12 or 13 different things, and the machines are all adjusted by tapping with your wrist band. These machines adjust to you and the resistance weights (that were determined at the pre-assessment) are automatically loaded and off you go. It counts it for you - so easy and no messy bits of paper that you can barely see to cart around.
There is no rah rah about burning calories but are focussed on movement and balance - what we all need as we age.
Parking (at Shellharbour) is easy.
Very friendly environment and quite often the class is over before you realised. I often come out thinking that was quick!

Read moreIt’s been nine months since i started at Elossa and i can still say it’s the best thing i ever did. The friendly welcome and consistent encouragement always inspire me to ‘ Do more’. I find myself in a more positive physical and emotional headspace after a session at Elossa. It sets the day up with energy not only from the exercise but also from the social interactions with others - there are usually plenty of laughs and friendly banter in our early morning class! I sometimes wonder if my balance is improving but after an incident this week where i was able to right my body after i tripped over shows me that things are improving. The Elossa staff are very encouraging, understanding and focused on helping me to get the best out of my routines. I am discovering my short comings such as lack of balance, bent back, rounded shoulders and with the watch-care provided by my instructors I am improving my physical shape. This was recently supported by my chiropractor who congratulated me on maintaining my adjustment for the first time in over 12 months.
