Many points for efficient service at this Greco/Mediterranean restaurant. The meals and wine arrived in good time and were delicious, the ambience was warm & cheerful, the seats were comfortable (no hard wood or metal chairs here!) and the waitstaff and supervisors were polite, cheerful, helpful and very attentive. The salt and chilli squid was as perfectly cooked as it's possible for squid to be - soft and juicy in a light and crispy batter. The one and only thing that was a letdown (for us) was that the chilli was about 500 on the Scoville scale (i.e. barely there). We prefer 20,000 to 30,000. We finished up applying the cracked pepper with reckless abandon resulting in salt and pepper squid instead, which, given the delectable squid, was no bad thing. Our delightful waitress (who had an engaging accent that we couldn't place, and turned out to be Nepalese) was clearly fully appraised of the subtleties of greek cuisine, informed us that they had originally served the squid with a modestly warm chilli, but too many people complained that it was too hot. It's a mystery why anyone would order a meal containing chilli if they don't actually like chilli. The only other dish we ordered was herbed lemon potatoes - a new idea to us, and my beloved was a little taken aback (at first) at the unusual concoction. It's a little like having your mouth ready for regular potatoes and finding that you're actually eating a lemon. Once the first piece has been eaten, we wondered why we'd never come across this before - it just...
Read moreImpressive cafe, great food & some of the best coffee I have had in Launceston. From the moment you walk in the door, you can smell the house roast is of a high standard, and the barista knows how to make a great coffee. The meals are of a very high standard, and they use quality produce, and the prices are very reasonable, my wife also loved the cocktails she indulged in they were made to perfection. Our waitress, Mikayla was amazing, very warm, brilliant with her service & attentive at all times, she made our experience a very memorable one, and we look forward to returning because it is hard to find good people that are so welcoming in many places we have visited in Launceston. It was a shame to witness a table of men, that were treating our waitress so badly, and with so much disrespect, disgusting actually, but to see this young woman handle it with such grace & elegance was also very encouraging at the same time when it’s hard enough to get full time employment today, to come to work each day to face this from customers who should have more wisdom, as well as maturity, towards our youth today, so a very BIG SHOUT...
