Dining at Monsoon was an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and professionalism. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance — upscale but unpretentious, cozy yet elegant. We started with the Dumpling, gyoza,octo and which was bursting with flavor and beautifully plated. For the main course, I had duck curry and Padthai chicken — and WOW. The balance of textures and flavors was masterful. Every bite felt intentional and memorable. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail: The pacing of the meal was perfect The staff was extremely knowledgeable about ingredients and pairings Even the background music was on point! at this point i have recommended monsoon to a ridiculous amount of people, anyone who will listen really; strangers, friends, colleagues, clientele at jobs, and everyone i have introduced monsoon to ends up loving it just as much as i do. because this really is the best restaurant in launceston. my family and i have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and accomplishments here for the past 6 years as well as ordering off their take away menu most weeks. the food is sensational - flavoursome, generous, and made with a whole lot of love. the ambience is intimate and cosy, and the staff are so sweet, attentive and kind, they’ve become our friends. the owners, charlie and tanya, have created a wholesome oasis in the heart of launnie and i will continue to sing their praises for a long...

Savagely Disappointing! Expensive, and woeful. The Pad Thai was so sweet that it failed to resemble Thai food, it evoked the unfortunate flavour of a Kan Tong meal from the 1980s. The Chicken Penang Curry should have been called the Carrot and Bamboo Shoot Attempted Curry. Its flavours were all wrong; the Galangal was missing and if there was 30 grams of chicken I would be surprised. Our 5.45 booking resulted in our food coming out at 6.45. The one star is really for the soft shell crab, which although mediocre was just edible. I would recommend not bothering with this overpriced eatery with its aloof waitresses, and finding somewhere else for dinner. $78 wasted........
