Terrible Experience – Rude, Disrespectful, and Discriminatory

I’m pregnant and went to this blood collection centre for a time-sensitive test that required a 2-hour wait — which we fully understood and accepted. We were told to stay inside a room during that time, and although it was uncomfortable, we managed. I even prayed in the room quietly.

But during my prayer, a staff member suddenly came in aggressively, raised their voice, and said, “I’m telling you, come now!” — completely ignoring that I was praying and showing no respect for my condition or beliefs. It was shocking and humiliating.

This felt like racism and religious disrespect. We were treated differently and unfairly from the start. We are paying for this service — we’re not asking for a favour. Basic respect and professionalism should be expected in any healthcare setting. I...

The phlebotomist here deserves a raise! (I believe her name may have been Toni but I could be wrong) Such a brilliant job. I came for a 2 hour test. She had minimum 3-4 patients waiting at a time and worked through them tirelessly, ensuring the wait time wasn’t too long. If you are aware of who you are and had a bad day then so be it, but if that was your professional phone manner you need to find a different job.
