Impt: please check the website for the market dates. It opens on alternative weekends - one Sat and then Sunday usually 2 to 3 weeks later. Don’t pop in because Maps say it’s open. The setting doesn’t allow unique opening arrangements!
Visited this weekend market yesterday and it was really bustling. Quite a few interesting stalls selling handicraft - Jewelry being the post common. I remember there’s a few painting and sculpture stalls too.
Clothing stalls from vintage to own designs are available too. There’s also candle stalls, food stalls (selling chocolate or nuts) too.
If you are tired from the browsing, there are a few food stalls selling Asian, Mediterranean and Latin American food. Sitting is possible under make shift tents. There’s also other cafes right next to the market if the food doesn’t interest you (and are good too!)
I bought a small succulent here for my partner in a cute 🥑 vase. Oh yes, cash is preferred at some stalls but you can check with the owner how they want to be paid. Cards are...
Read moreI hadn't visited kirribilli markets for more than 20 years, so l went to scope it out in the role as an ordinary visitor, and also to find out if the place would suite my hope to do an antique and collectable stall there. I found it to be one of the most uninteresting markets l have visited. Very little music, very few books. Modern junkie stuff, with a heavy dose of low grade garage sale stuff i.e.second hand shoes amd handbags. I inquired about the costs, and the market management quoted me some absolutely frightening prices. Like $70 for a space. $10 per table $20 insurance $40 for a marquee for sun or rain protection. Parking looks like $30/40 for the day, if you are a stallholder. I rated it at 1 star preferring that a real low grade market remain in place so that one day someone might be able to upgrade it. 1 positive thing...l arrived about 10 a.m. and to my complete surprise, parked my car right outside...(maybe an indication of a lack of...
Read moreI caught the ferry at Circular Quay, and got off at Milsons Pt near Luna Park. From there, it's about a 5-10 minute walk up a slight hill, to get to the market. It's a beautiful location for a market, with views of the Harbour Bridge. I was actually hoping to find vintage model cars and older stuff, but this market was more for clothing and hand made goods, much like Glebe or Paddington Markets. The market is divided into sections; there is the outdoor areas on artificial grass, and another section under cover, in a tunnel. There are also a number of food vendors selling things like Asian food, Gozleme, BBQ, & coffee. There are plenty of shady areas to sit and eat your food. Close by, there are plenty of shops around on the street for other eating options. The train station is right near the market, if you don't feel like walking back to the ferry wharf. Overall, it's a lovely market, that I think is more suited to woman,...
