Offering cafe food with an interesting menu, BTB are filling a gap in the market by offering dishes that are focused on the use of native Australian ingredients. Located in the stunning Harbourside suburb of Kirribilli just below the Sydney Harbour Bridge, hence āBTBā. Most of the seating is inside in a darkened space but full of customers happily enjoying their brekkie. We sit outside with our pram and puppy and efficiently served but the fun and friendly staff.
Weāve visited twice in the last month, wanting to try as many things as possible! Our first dish was the Warrigal falafels, which were super moist inside with a nice crunchy exterior, served with native zaatar, lemon aspen yoghurt, heirloom tomato salad and Warrigal greens. Oh and donāt forget to order a side of potato scallops with malt vinegar.
Another standout dish is the native cured salmon - with lemon aspen š mixed grains, macadamia miso cucumber š„ Myrtle cured radish, wakame raw greens, salt bush furikame and finger lime. This was so delicious, the seafood perfectly cured. It also looked stunning.
For a sweet option, thereās a vegan dish - Cherry ripe granola - dried cherry and cacao nib, coconut, wattleseed yoghurt, rosella glazed cherry jelly and granita. A great option on those hot days too.
On one of our visits there was an amazing special which was an absolutely cracker. The Duck hashbrown was nice and crispy and came served with a duck egg, sautƩed Warrigals, Davidson Plum Chilli Jam and sea spray! Should be there permanently.
Coffee wise, their specialty coffee is by coffee supreme and thereās your favourite milk based, Filter, batch brew as well as cascara, chai, kombucha, fresh juice and smoothies.
We loved our visits and thoroughly recommend BTB for excellent food and...

Here are my highlights: Food wise was yum for what i had! The inclusion of fresh native elements into their dishes is such an amazing culinary enjoyment. Although I originally wanted to order the Venison French Dip Sandwich, totally no regrets ordering the Avacado on Dark Rye. Not only was the Avacado on Dark Rye visually plated attractively, the taste was beyond ordinary. Every bite I took was a pleasure, and I just looked forward to the next bite. The ingredients were all fresh, and it was such a well-balanced dish. Definitely not your ordinary avacado on toast. In some ways, I did wish the portion size was a tad bigger as it was so yum. The mocha tasted good and though the Lilly Pilly Lemonade was more sour than what I thought it could be, i enjoyed the refreshing flavours it carried. Again, wishing that the portion would be larger. Payment can be both cash or card There are indoor and outdoor seatings. Outdoor is dog friendly. The wait staff was friendly, and while she was the only one serving the patrons, she still managed to attend to everyone. I enjoyed the decor and colours used for the cafe. It was warm and welcoming.
This is a cafe I look forward to coming back again. Hopefully to get to try more off their menu...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWonderful little cafe thatās nestled a few metres down the stairs to Harbour Bridge and conveniently located right in the central hub of Kirribilli. With a rustic charm and darker woody vibe, it instantly feels like itās own quiet nook in the bustling suburb.
The food is based on using native Australian ingredients, and includes generous helpings of delicious fermented vegetables on the side, yum!
Iāve gotten the the Native Cured Salmon, which has some wonderful myrtle cured radish, wakame, and macadamia miso cucumbers to balance out the flavours of the salmon, mixed grains and greens. And their Cherry Ripe Granola is chewy, tart and chock full of cherry (cherry jelly, cherry granita, and bits of dried cherry generously sprinkled throughout).
The Triple Cheese Toasty was my sisterās favourite, a must have if you love cheese.
My friend got the Roo-ben Sandwich, which wasnāt exactly my taste, but would be perfect for mustard fans out there (a little sour, a little salty, plenty of flavour).
As for their drinks, their Choccy Milk (both milk and almond) were delicious! Deep, intense chocolaty flavour that isnāt too sweet, but leans a towards bitter, all the while being a refreshing drink. The iced chai latte is really lovely, with a nice spice and kick to it.
I look forward to trying their...
