To simply put it, amazing. Great service, though food came out a little slow. But apart from that, it tasted amazing with a welcoming, clean and distinct cultural environment.
We ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken, yellow curry with vegetables and tofu, the mixed entree plate and finally, the crying tiger special.
The pineapple fried rice expertly balanced the sweetness of the pineapple with the saltiness of the other elements of the dish. Rice was well-cooked and flavourful, the pineapples provide a sweet contrast, and the fresh cucumber slices cleanly cut through the wonderful flavours with a fresh and juicy taste. I will add though, the vegetables were lacking in flavour and the chicken was on the dry side.
The yellow curry was fantastic, sweet and salty with an iconic Thai spiciness and flavour. Vegetables and tofu were well cooked and complemented the curry very well. We recommend ordering jasmine rice with curries. The consistency was a slightly bit runny, but overall a stunning dish.
The mixed entree plate is admittedly not as good. The sauces were decent, but we noticed that the food was on the dry side, especially the curry puff. The satay chicken was decent though. Overall, good but lacking.
Finally, the crying tiger. A bit pale on the outside, but otherwise one of the best steaks I've tasted. Cooked perfectly medium-medium rare, sauce has nice fresh flavours with slight spiciness and wonderful beef flavour. The addition of fresh lettuce and carrot swirles help cut through the fatty, heavy flavour of the beef. Overall a clean, well-balanced and tasty dish.
While the price is a bit high, the food speaks for itself. Service was a bit inadequate though. Highly recommend as a medium-high end restaurant. If you pass here, this is a great...
Read moreHad dinner here with my wife on a super busy Friday night. The male server was quite good, really attentive, and sat us down even though we didn't have a booking. So I came back with a few colleagues for lunch and booked for the late lunch hour which was not busy at all. There was 2 other single tables, a table with 2 other people, and a big group that was leaving as we arrived. Upon arrival, no one greeted us and once someone finally did notice we were waiting, the server proceeded to just hand me the menus and confirmed the table with the "Reserved" plaque was ours. She almost had this look that we had inconvenienced her. She took our order shortly after; 2 out of 3 meals came out promptly (1 curry dish and 1 noodle dish), as Thai food mostly does! The 3rd dish, however, which was also just a noodle dish took over 10 MORE minutes to come out after the other 2 had already been served. By this time, my colleagues had finished almost half of their meal already. A glance towards the kitchen and the server assured me it would be coming out soon. "Soon" was another 5 minutes on top of the first 10 minute delay and when it was finally brought to the table, it came with "Sorry it took awhile" with a half-effort grin to go with it. I had to eat my meal in a quick 10-minute window to catch up with the rest of the table. From the beginning all the way to payment, she had an attitude which was quite off-putting that she didn't even bother to conceal. It was almost as if our lunch bothered the easy lunch break she was supposed to have. Also on a side note, the same noodle dish that I ordered for dinner was $23 while the lunch version (same portion size) was $15.90? Feeling "meh" about this place after that...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant blends tradition and innovation beautifully, and you can taste the passion in every dish.
We started with the Wonton Prawns, which were a perfect balance of crispy and juicy. The prawns were fresh and succulent, wrapped in delicate wonton wrappers and fried to golden perfection. Paired with the sweet chili dipping sauce, they were an absolute delight. Another standout appetizer was the Mee Grob, a dish that was both crunchy and flavorful, with just the right mix of sweet and tangy notes. The caramelized noodles were light and airy, making it a great way to start the meal.
For the main course, we had the Larb Gai, and it was hands down one of the best versions of this classic dish we’ve ever had. The minced chicken was packed with bold flavors, featuring a perfect balance of citrus, spice, and fresh herbs. The crisp lettuce wraps added a refreshing crunch, making each bite incredibly satisfying.
Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, happy to offer recommendations and ensure every dish was prepared to perfection. The commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and authentic flavors truly shines through.
