I was very excited to try this restaurant. It looked like one of the more beautiful restaurants that Baha Mar had to offer. I booked a reservation for 5 of us to celebrate my friends bachelorette party. We showed up early for our reservation and waited in the bar area outside of the restaurant and had a drink where we were provided with excellent service. We were shortly seated in the back corner of the restaurant. We were seated and waited about 30 minutes before the waiter returned to bring us water and ask us for our drinks. We ordered our food when he brought us our drinks about 25 mins later. That was the last time we saw our waiter till the end of our meals. The food runners were extremely nice and the food was excellent! We asked our food runner to please let our server know we would like another round of drinks and also water since no one had received beverages in over an hour. I then asked the host to speak to the manager due to the lack of service on such a special occasion. When speaking to the manager (Cleveland) he stated that he would have a word with our server. Our server returned with drinks ... The wrong drinks and horrible at that. The manager however disappeared for about 30 mins. We finally flagged down the manager to explain our frustrations and he was rude and off putting. We received a bill of $800 and would have spent well over $1000 if our server had of been providing appropriate service and drinks. When speaking to the manager Cleveland, I informed him that I witnessed two separate tables searching around for a waiter when never receiving service got up and walked out of the restaurant. Cleveland then called me a liar and said nobody walked out of my restaurant. I live in New York and I travel to Nassau usually once or twice a year to visit with friends and enjoy the beautiful island. I could not have been more disappointed with bahamar and especially this restaurant. I was absolutely disgusted with the service in a restaurant that charges the amount that it does for the food. Excellent food does not make up for garbage service. I have ate it so many local places and received such incredible service. It's just a huge disappointment to book something so beautiful for such a special occasion and the evening be ruined by garbage service. Definitely will not be returning to this restaurant. Apologies to the chefs because their food is...
Read moreWorst experience ever. We booked this restaurant to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday. I made reservation notes about this milestone weeks in advance. Server didn’t even have the decency to look at reservation notes and wish him Happy Birthday. There was no acknowledgement from the restaurant.
I am celiac and I also had made note about this during my reservation. They are not very accommodating of allergies. Server seemed clueless, didn’t know what celiac was and didn’t know her menu. Understood, maybe they don’t come across such allergies often but one must know the food they’re serving in a restaurant. Maybe she was new so I can understand that she didn’t know much about the menu.
We ordered chicken and vegetarian Tagine and having been to Morocco, this was the worst Tagine I had ever tasted! My dish wasn’t even a Tagine. Just bottled tomato sauce with burnt asparagus, “Impossible meatballs” and saffron rice. It was extremely salty. My dish was missing half the items that were listed on the menu and upon confronting the server about this, she said oh, it’s in your meatballs. She had the audacity to tell me that when the meatballs were pre-made “Impossible” meatballs.
They charge so much for a meal that you could get at OPA and it would probably taste better at opa than this restaurant.
I was looking forward to dining here after reading the reviews but I was so disappointed. The servers need training in customer service and the chefs need to dust off their culinary arts degree (if they had any). Maybe my meal was prepared by an intern. Idk but it was definitely not Tagine.
The earthenware pots were chipped and the color was coming off of it, causing a health problem choking hazard. Maybe now I’m being really detailed and picky but they definitely ruined his birthday for him and this was supposed to be special.
People here do not care about the customer at all. Ambiance however is nice.
Will not...
Read moreThis was by far the worst restaurant in baha mar. My wife and I stayed at the Rosewood in mid September and loved it. Every restaurant down to the breakfast places were delicious. Then, on our last night we decided to eat at Cloe. I am not exaggerating when I say it was the worst service I have ever had. Service so bad that it ruined the meal. We literally did not see our waiter once after he took our food order. The food runner brought us the wrong food. My dish came out incorrect, missing an entire thing of rice. With our waiter AWOL I flagged down a manager and asked him for some rice because my dish did not come with it. Condescendingly he told me that my dish didn’t come with rice. After he walked away I pulled up the menu on my and sure enough, it says that it comes with rice. Now irate, a new manager comes to our table to check on us and I tell him what happened. He also tells me the dish does not come with rice. I pull up the menu in front of him and ask him for a copy of the paper menu and sure enough it is on there as well. He said that it was a mistake and shouldn’t be on the menu. IT WAS THE 20th DAY OF SEPTEMBER DURING RESTAURANT MONTH. They have had these same menus for 20 days.
The food, service, management was so bad it really just ruined our meal and we left without getting the dessert that came with our meal.
If you want to spend $300 on a dinner for two where you’ll be ignored, given the wrong food items, and spoken to as though you are dumb, then I highly recommend this place. Otherwise, try ANY of the other great restaurants in this hotel. They are all head and shoulders...
