Frituur Den Os — Local services in Antwerp

Went there as a Stranger , I can understand and respect Flamish frittur culture , but laughing in front of a customer multiple times is not the key , still, I’m bringing money and asking for a service.

I Went there many times, sometimes they agree for some “bacons on fries” other time they refuse, and this size of frittur always different even if I always order “groot”. At the end why you laugh on a customer face ? Every time?

Also They base the size on how much you are ok with them.

Pretty disappointing. Walking 15 minutes in the rain to try this place. When I got my food, I went to sit down and eat it, when I was told I couldn't as they were closing in 10 minutes. I said I'd eat it fast, and the two staff had a conversation out back and came back and still said no, despite the fact Google Maps states open until 4:00 AM. Vandaag eens niet naar Hof Van Cleve gegaan, maar naar de sterrenzaak 'Den Os'. Toen ik binnenstapte overviel mij de geur van nostalgie, meer specifiek toen wij vroeger met het gezin heerlijke frietjes aten met gebraden kip en appelmoes.

Ik bestelde, zeg ik dat juist, "een kleintje". Daarnaast koos ik als side voor iets met een moeilijke naam, namelijk "chickenfingers". Moet iets Amerikaans ofzo zijn.

Ik moest slechts enkele minuten wachten. Dit kon ik doen in de 'lounge'. Al wachtend keek ik, op de beeldbuis die in de hoek was gemonteerd, naar Vincent Fierens die op Q-music radio maakte. Wat een natuurtalent is die man toch.

Ik nam mijn eten mee naar huis. Toen ik de heerlijke combinatie van aardappel en kip tot mij nam, rolden de tranen van mijn wangen. Dit is gastronomie. Hier kom ik zeker terug. Ah ja, want ik woon in...
