Enjoyed an amazing exploration of Sao Paulo!
I had an amazing experience doing the walking tour of Downtown, Vila Madalena, and Paulista Ave. If you find yourself with a bit of extra time in the city, I highly recommend it! I was able to learn so much about Sao Paulo.
Luci the Beauty is not just a guild member, but an extremely passionate and bubbly one at that! She loves her city and country immensely and is always filled with enthusiasm about them. Moreover, Luci's extensive knowledge about the places we explore shines through during our walks. Plus she's really gets to know as many people as she can along our journey.
Luci was fantastic, answering any queries that were raised by other tourists. Vila Madalena was my favourite, with its abundant street art and fascinating stories behind them. It's an experience not to be missed!
In Vila Madalena, the neighbourhood is pretty safe. I noticed other people comfortably using their DSLR cameras. However, just a friendly reminder to always stay alert and aware of your surroundings!
!!!Warning: When touring downtown, take only essentials like your phone. In a recent incident, a local woman who wasn't part of our group had her belongings stolen...

Good: -It was easy to find them in the Praca da Republica. There are tours leaving all throughout the day, so they have staff there constantly to help. -All the staff were really friendly and helpful and professional. -The tour we wanted was sold out, so we showed up half an hour early and were able to snag spots with no problem. -The information and route for the historical part of downtown was really interesting and couldn't have been better.
Room for improvement: -It was hard to hear at times, especially when our guide turned her head to talk to the other half of the group. -We found the whole first half of the tour pretty boring. We've done a lot of free walking tours and usually love them, but most of the first couple hours were spent on the stories of the architects of a lot of modern-era apartment buildings, which we did not find interesting. We wish we could have those two hours back and just have joined for the second half of the tour in the area with more history, because that part was...
Read moreI had an awesome time exploring downtown São Paulo with Lucy on July 5th! She was super friendly and made me feel part of the group right away, even though I showed up solo. Throughout the tour, Lucy gave us great tips about the city — like local spots you’d probably never find on your own. One cool moment was when she actually took us to Santa Tereza Bakery, where I tried a super unique coxinha — instead of the usual filling, this one had an entire chicken thigh wrapped in dough and deep fried (seriously, only in Brazil!). She also recommended trying the classic Bauru sandwich, which I ended up hunting down later that day at a spot downtown — and it was totally worth it! Oh, and I can’t forget how Lucy managed to sum up 500 years of Brazil’s history in five fun minutes without making it feel like a boring history class. If you want a guide who’s cool, energetic, and knows all the best tips in São Paulo, Lucy...
