Bluenose Golf Club — Local services in Lunenburg

After spending the day surrounded by all the tourists in Lunenburg we took a chance to go to the other side of the harbor to have a cocktail at the Bluenose Golf Club--a great find (and only locals were there)! The manager Hannah suggested we sit outside (overlooking Lunenburg--great view!) for a beer and recommended checking out Hirtle's Beach which was wonderful for a quiet long walk.

Then we came back for dinner and enjoyed a "loaded caesar" (a bloody mary but with clamato juice and all the trimmings: shrimp/bacon wrapped scallops) and a fantastic scallop/salad dinner while watching the sun set on Lunenburg. Our entire bill (along w/ the earlier beers) including tax/tip...and the amazing view......

This was nice little golf course.  It's 9 holes on a tight piece of land with picturesque views of Lunenberg.  You'll have fun golfing around the local wildlife except when you stop to let the deer pass, as you'll swarmed by mosquitoes the size of a golf balls.  They are ferocious! The course isn't too challenging.  It can be somewhat forgiving to lefties. The pro shop is small but we were received well.  Bring your own bug spray, though, because they didn't have any on hand.  You'll need it. Would I make the trip to Lunenberg just to play this course, again?  No.  But it was a nice activity to participate in while...

Great course for golf and a stunning view of the harbour. However, no respect from other golf members for new golfers. Other golf members were very rude and not understanding when it came to being a new golf player. It’s hard to enjoy golf and become better at the game when there are other golf members upset at you for being too slow (which was just slower than them, the golfers who do this all the time). I found the group I went with was pretty “on par” for finishing the hole on time however, I found the golfers behind us to be extremely fast and aggressive for the fact we...
