A must do item for those interested in the lore of the life on the Atlantic Fisheries. The only negative was the reconstruction on the Bluenose II and the other museum owned fishing boat which prevented us from touring the boats and we were looking forward to exploring the boats first hand. Otherwise, an extensive museum, plan at least a couple of hours, more if you want to watch the videos and movies available and there were numerous. We learned how to dress out a cod in an extensive video by a man who clearly had expertise in fish processing. There is history of Norwegians who trained there in WWII and the losses of ships due to German submarines. There is a live aquarium, there are knowledgeable staff standing around for questions. There is a restaurant in the museum although not part of the museum, which serves some of the best fish we have ever had and was recommended by a native NS person. The setting is adorable historic Lunenburg and there is much to see and do besides the museum. The museum provides a wrist bracelet which allows one to leave for coffee or lunch then return. We had coffee and scones then returned to the museum in the afternoon. And the most touching item is the memorial to the ships lost and the hands lost over the years.

This museum is fantastic. There is so much info and history it was great. I truly enjoyed everything. Hard to talk about something in particular… all the staff had lots of info and easiness to share their knowledge… on thing I have not seen anywhere else: a tribute to the real history with the indigenous and the intact in the Africa slave trade. I was very happy to see that but my perception is that it should of been at the beginning of the museum before we enter. It is such a profound statement and being of mikma’k and Haitian descent, it made me feel seen. Also because we don’t carry money anymore, maybe another system we could use for donation….

Amazing museum. It is one of the most interesting museums I've ever been to if you love the ocean and the history of the Maritimers specifically NS. It combines facts with human interest stories and delves into the daily activities of the tough , hard working and resilient people who lived in the coast of NS and eked out a living from the ocean. The staff was super friendly and funny. Wendy provided an amazing account of the lobster and fishing issues as well as the lifestyle as her family have deep roots in the fishing business. She was able to give a human voice to what often in museums ends up being a sterile government talk. The man in the 1930s schooner that you can walk into had that same personal experience that makes a difference when speaking and brings to life the way life was for the men who fished in NS in the early 1900s. This is a must see for anyone who is interested in the coast of NS and the people who make it their...

That's my experience,,,, yours might be different. The location is perfect, the restaurant is on the shore and has a lovely view 👌 😀 😊 😍 I liked it. There are plenty of parking spaces but unfortunately it is not free. The decorations and layout are good, and they can be considered cozy, and the place is large and fit large groups. Cleanliness is really 👎 not plausible. The tables were not cleaned, as well as the seats. 🪰 flys were everywhere. They really need to do something out of that. The time to be seated was excellent, and the time to place the order was plausible. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food was ok, not the best. The portions of fish were so small. The wrap is cold. The menus was limited. The taste was ok only. The prices was $$ compared to the value of the food. Conclusion, I had a wonderful experience in the past. But this time it was ok. #Restaurant #Review #Food #Experience #View #Parking #Decorations #Staff...
