I was really excited to visit this place. Decided to order the platter so I can get a bit of everything. It turned out to be one of the worst meals I've ever had. Restaurants like those NEED to stop using 'Caribbean' in their description when the quality of their food is this horrible, not to mention COMPLETELY unrelated to Caribbean dishes. The only thing Caribbean about this meal was me eating it. Ribs were dry, the jerk chicken drums has no flavour, no heat, also dry. The brisket was salty but had the most potential. The cornbread was dry and didn't taste appealing. Pulled pork had a good texture, but again, no flavour. The cole slaw was ,,, I don't even know. Sour? The mac and cheese was okay,, MUCH better than KD but again, in no way 'Caribbean' like the rest of the meal. The seasoning on the elote was tasty but the corn tasted like it was previously cooked, then reheated. But honestly, so did everything else. Nothing felt fresh,, it all just felt like reheated meat, which is probably what made everything so dry. However I would've minded LESS if it actually tasted good. This was hands down the most disappointing meal I've had all year.

Stopped in to pick up a rack of ribs and decided to get Elote, Mexican street corn. $7.50 for an ear of corn. 'Magin!! Since my love for smoked ribs is strong, I decided to eat the Elote first. Omg!!! The Elote was AMAZING. I was pretty skeptical that any corn could be worth $7.50, but boy was I wrong. I'm honestly thinking that next time I go, I might just order four ears for supper and nothing else. I have no idea what is on Elote, although I'm pretty sure one topping was fresh Parmesan. There's a hint of spice to add a little excitement, but I honestly don't know what was on it, nor do I care. It really was the best corn EVER. The ribs.... the ribs were good, nice smoke flavour, and the rack was huge. I could only eat half a rack with my corn. I definitely ordered too much, but I have half a rack of slow smoked ribs for leftovers. Definitely can't complain about that. The unfortunate part of my meal was eating the corn first. It ruined me for the ribs. I love ribs, I love steak, I love bacon, but this corn might be the most delicious thing I've eaten in a long time. Thank you Smoke Pitt BBQ for such an awesome supper!!

I was very disappointed in this BBQ restaurant, and calling it mediocre would be generous. I had heard it compared to top Texas BBQ, but it was nothing like the great BBQ I’ve had in Texas, the Southwest, or the South. The sauce tasted more like a Mexican salsa than any BBQ style I’ve ever tried and I do appreciate the variety of styles for sweet Memphis style or vinegar based sauces in the Carolinas. The ribs were gray, bland, and lacked any bark, seasoning, or smoke flavor. The brisket was even worse—mushy, flavorless pulled brisket served on a $29 combo plate, even though I specifically asked a few minutes before if the served sliced brisket. When I questioned it, I was told sliced brisket only comes if you order it separately and not on the combo plate with 2 meets. The menu on the wall showing (see picture)the combo never said pulled brisket but apparently a printed menu did. The potato salad had hard potatoes, the beans were just average, and overall the meal was so disappointing I couldn’t finish it. This was a big letdown given its local reputation, and I would not return.

The food used to be good here :( key words used to be. I used to go quite frequently but have not returned in a while, went the other day and can say the food is on the downhill. The Mac was dry on the top despite it being served to me minutes beforehand (I ate it on the car ride home) and as I dove deeper getting into the sauce it was more like Mac and pepper, not every bite was peppery but they certainly weren't the "wowza" cheesy taste that I had become so accustomed to and the sauce didn't really stay on the noodle very well. I had the brisket sandwich a few hours later after arriving home and the brisket was soft, don't get me wrong, all little pieces and I'm sure it would have been juicier eating sooner rather than later but, again, there was no wow. The brisket seemed to be lacking that spicy, salty, really in depth flavor almost like I was getting no outside crusty bits of spice. The mayo stuck around longer than expected but the bread wasn't as toasted as I remembered and I actually had a hard time because soft bread sticks to the back of my top front teeth which is why I get the brisket, crunchy toasted ciabatta and that is not what I got. I'm not a big coleslaw person but theirs used to be one of my favorites the sweet, the tangy that is clearly more than simply white vinegar, now its missing that sweetness, there was still a bit of tang but it was more bitter, the cup was only full about 3/4 and half of that was one big chunk. :( Big disappointment this go around, not likely to return unless...

We were really looking forward this place after so many 5 stars review. Unfortunately, it was disappointing... We were there sunday July 21 2024. First, the person that takes order was really looking as she doesn't want to be there. No hello, no smile. Maybe just a bad day. After this less than convincing welcome, we want to order the BBQ platter.

The girl informs us that there's no more ribs, no more brisket and corn bread. We're looking for ribs and brisket so disappointing but ok, we will choose other things. I'll take fresh lemonade. Ah, this too we didn't have one.

So we take jerk chicken and pulled pork sandwich. It was ok, but nothing more. The pulled pork itself was great, but in the sandwich, the others flavors take over the pork. The jerk chicken, ok but not impressed. The smoked flavor was just a little present and the chicken itself not particularly juicy.

The price is great, about 50$ for 2 dishes, one tropical pear and diet coke beverage and tip.

Great roof seating. Note: you order at cashier, they give you a small device that vibrates when food is ready and you go grab it yourself.

Maybe the BBQ platter would be more convincing?

Unfortunately, I cannot give 3,5/5 in Google, but for the experience, it...

I have wanted to try this restaurant since it opened. It was worth the wait!!! Being a meat lover I have found a new home. I had the half pound of brisket with a side of mac and cheese. Both were delicious. Reading other reviews I did not believe that someone could improve on mac and cheese... How good could it really believe. However, it was the best I have ever had. Sorry mum! It's that good. My wife had the BBQ ribs which she shared a couple with me. They too were delicious!!! We also tried a side order of Elote. Not knowing what to expect I was totally surprised that it was corn on the cob. But it was the best corn on the cob that I have ever had. I don't exactly know what the Mexican spices were other than delicious. My wife and I argued over who would get to finish the corn after we had both had a taste. Being a gentleman I let her have it. This way I could finish the Mac and cheese. A little reverse physiology never hurts a marriage... When I go back to this restaurant. I will most likely have a full rack of ribs with a side of corn bread. ( I heard from other people that the corn bread is to die for) It was an amazing meal. I can't wait to go back and try more...
