Very disappointing. Lobster bun is about three small bites of flavorless tough lobster meat on a huge bun and tons of lettuce with a million fries. Ridiculous for over $20. Fish and chips not much cheaper; expect lots of batter and a smattering of not very sweet fish. Tartare sauce is watered down and cole slaw portion is so small it’s not worth it. Seafood “chowder” is also very watered down with a small shrimp and a a piece of fish or two. Flavorless, didn’t come out hot and had to wait fifteen minutes.

Sadly, prices for “seafood” are all about the same now that we’ve destroyed the cod and fished out all the oceans of earth. Halibut is still available but only a select group of places charge what they should since it’s caught locally. Coming in shoulder season, not everything is open yet and the new Covid excuse for lack of available eateries is “no staff”. That is not the issue here as the staff is ample and friendly. But given the prices of seafood and lobster, I’d search for a place that at least provides flavorful and reasonable potions. Least favorite of three nights...

Well I went in with high hopes after seeing a food review online that looked decent, ordered a two piece fish and chips, the wife got chowder, her meal had no complaints, me however, I’m pretty picky when it comes to my fish/batter. And this place missed the mark on a good piece of fish ENTIRELY. my batter was golden brown and soft in spots, needed at minimum 60-90 seconds longer in the fryer, also the batter that was on it was far to thick. Not to mention covered in grease! I had to dig away at my fish to even find any fish! Just a mountain of half cooked slimy on the inside batter. The fish couldent have been dried off befor being battered, and as a result the batter dident stick to the fish and was all slimy on the inside. To pay 25+$$$ for that with some shoestring burnt little fry nubs and a small pop was insane to me. My one positive note was that the fish was atleast fresh and not frozen tasting. But that’s not enough to make me ever...

You order at the counter and pay. They give you a pager and tell you that you'll pick up your order at that window. If you order drinks, you'll carry them to your table. Technically it's a self-serve system but considering the fact that almost every business in town is short-staffed as they're having a hard time finding employees, this system works just fine! They do have staff that they clean up tables after you're done and in our case we were asked if we needed anything else.

The two piece fish and chips ($17) was good but a tad greesy even though we asked for it to be crispy.

The Garden Salad ($8.5]) was fresh and crisp.

The Chowder ($12.95) had decent amount of haddock and potato but it lacked seasoning and there was a layer of oil on top (see photo.)

They had two beer on tap and the refill on sodas are free. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The view from the...

On an evening where there was at minimum, 90 minute wait at every other place, the fish shack can really come to the rescue. Simple menu - simple ordering system, get in line, place the order, pick it up, and either eat on their incredible patio or take it to eat somewhere else along the waterfront (seagulls are around to share if necessary) The fish tasted fresh and the breading was not overly oily - the fries were a bit too thin for fish and chips fries… They do offer you malt vinegar instead of regular, if you’re not having vinegar with your fish and chips…what are you even doing A bit on the pricey side but if you’re reading this, you’re probably a tourist so…it’s the price of being one

The name of the restaurant fits the poor quality of food . An insult to to the great bounty of th sea being fried or should I say over fried in oil into a unhealthy meal Tha Food is fast food fried , served in a plastic plate , Beer in a plastic glass . The prices R for fora fine restaurant price . Would not recommend this place more than a A&W fast food serving poor quality fried food . I understand that this restaurant owner owns four other restaurants. Sad to hear that Thumbs down for this place . Unfortunately U have to pay for the food before U have seen it or tasted , they do not even serve it to U . I would not given a tip for this service No Wifi either . Prem , Calgary , Alberta .
