The city is authentic, cozy and beautiful! Coloured houses with a lot of detailes are awesome! People are friendly and delicious food, along with all kind of masterpieces from local artists.
We wished we could find more cozy and relaxing seating areas on the waterfront and across the streets available, and more cozy places with comfortable patios. Walking around the city is great, but after that you want to seat in the comfortable chair with a plate of delicious food or lay down on the chaise lounge with an ice cream, melting under the warming sun. No doubt, those another 2 million tourists visiting annually our Nova Scotia will definitely mark this out! But also, the local people should get more advanced level of the services, comfort and quality, enjoying living in our wonderful province with a stunning ocean views and unbelievable nature! This will bring more tourists here. Btw, according to our mild winter, the operational season of provincial parks, some local spots and touristic places could be more long that it was years ago. Parking was super convenient—$4 an hour right near the waterfront (pay when you leave). Everything is walkable from there, and the town is very pedestrian-friendly, even with...

If you look closely, there is a revealing clue to this town’s connection with its maritime past. Many of those houses have a top-floor “widow’s walk,” a glass-lined perch where families anxiously awaited their loved ones’ return from sea. Many homes and buildings have historic plaques. It is not a very large town, so you will be able to cover it in a car in a short amount of time too. Part of the town overlooks the harbor with wonderful views of the water. There are lots of shops, restaurants and waterfront to enjoy. Do not forget to take...
