Booked in advance for the morning cruise. It was beautiful. The water was calm but it was just windy enough that the sails were able to take us without them getting the engine going. All the staff was friendly and happy to answer any questions about the ship. Children can go on the ship but it isn’t really geared toward children. It’s just a nice boot cruise. The captain chooses the route everyday depending on tides, wind, overall weather. So you could go more than once and the trip would be different! Purchase tickets in advance. We got tickets to go out of lunenburg but they also have cruises out of Halifax. It all depends where the bluenose is docked and some days it is not open at all and is undergoing maintenance. So it’s important to check and get tickets in advance.

I'd give it 100 stars if I could. Growing up I remember my grandfather telling me stories about the original Bluenose and he always wanted to take me to see the Bluenose II but we never made it. Very grateful that this ship has been brought back to life and is so well maintained. Was fortunate to have been able to book a couple of tickets in advance and we had a perfect morning for our (too short of a) ride out and about, including under sail. Kudos to the staff who are more than dedicated about not only maintaining the boat, but with providing the experience as well. Truly Canada's Pride!

The Bluenose II ship is a sight to see! Unfortunately its mast and sails have been removed for the season when we visited this month. Nevertheless, it's a ship rooted in the history of the original Bluenose, as well as Nova Scotia's seafaring heritage. It's free to see, and is just docked alongside Lunenburg pier. Taking pics of the front can be tricky but we made it work. A must-see if you're visiting the Lunenburg area for the first time.

The Bluenose II is a wonder as it pulled up to dock. We had tickets on July 1 but the weather in Lunenburg was poor with wind and heavy rain, and decided not to take my family on the open deck boat. We came back the day after (sunny and hot) and was able to go on the boat for a quick tour!

What an amazing experience!.. the crew were amazing at what they did, Eva was so nice and answered all my 9 year old questions( even the ones that didn't involve the ship). The tour around the Harbour was such an experience, one that my family will remember forever❤️

I have heard a lot about the Bluenose over the years and was happy to finally get to see it. After all of the hype I was expecting to see a bigger ship. Very nice looking ship. If you are going to be in Nova Scotia this is a must see for it's Canadian heritage.
