I'd give here a 3.5 based on my first visit, on a rainy Monday in Feb 2019. A friend and I drove from Halifax for the day and picked it out in advanced. We arrived a bit too early for the 11:30 opening so just wandered around the town for a bit. When the doors did open, we were the first customers of the day and within the hour of being there, two other tables were taken, out of the maybe dozen tables? I'd say there is capacity for 60 or 70, give or take. Standard atmosphere of wooden tables, fair bit of natural light coming in, nice view of the water. Friendly service. I tried the 'Adams and Knickle Scallops ($23 Scallops fresh off the wharf! Skillet seared with clarified butter, garlic, and freshly squeezed lemon, and served with a creamy Parmesan risotto, and seasonal vegetables) which was very good, very filling. It wasn't the most memorable amazing dish I've ever had, but no complaints whatever, the scallops cooked just right. My friend had the 'Hell Bay Fish & Chips' (2 pc for $15 haddock, hand dipped and made to order, in their own Hell Bay English Ale beer, deep fried) which he rated probably about the same as my own. Very good, nothing wrong with it, nothing unique either. For dessert, I tried the Creme Brulee ($8) which was a blueberry variety that day, and was good, albeit quite standard and don't recall it having a dominant blueberry flavor. Friend had a peanut butter pie, which I do not see on their online menu, so must've been the daily $8 feature. It was good, and more of the same, nothing really memorable, but tasty regardless. I think I had built this place up more in my mind that it would be a bit of a finer dining experience, but that is my own fault, and overall, I was still happy with the experience and definitely would eat here again, preferably on a nicer day...

This was my first visit to your restaurant for dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
When we arrived, we told the first waitress we were three people. She offered us the choice of a booth or a window seat. We chose the window seat, and she told us she would get it ready. A few minutes later, she came back and explained that the window seat was for two people waiting at the bar, but that a booth would be ready soon. We agreed and waited patiently.
While we were waiting, a group of four people came in after us. Another waitress seated them right away without asking about a list. However, when the same waitress approached us, she asked if we were on the list and insisted we could not have a table if we weren’t, even though her coworker had already told us one would be ready soon. This felt very unfair, as the group that arrived after us was seated immediately while we were questioned and delayed.
Eventually, after we explained again, the waitress returned and apologized, saying it was a “miscommunication.” But it did not feel like a simple mistake. To make matters worse, we were then seated at a booth hidden in the back corner, even though there were clearly empty booths in better locations that we walked past.
I want to emphasize that if your restaurant has rules for seating and reservations, they should be applied equally to all customers. We left feeling singled out and unwelcome, which no guest should experience.
I hope you will address this issue and ensure your staff are trained to treat every customer fairly and...
Read moreI came a saw I Lunenburgered.
While the steep 30$ burger plus 5$ for fries price point was a monetary hindrance I came for something unique. For that 30$ there was no shortage of lobster on that burger. It was decent and everything was cooked perfectly. The token single bacon wrapped scallop on top certainly made it fun and the bacon was great. Would I ever eat it again… no. Was it good yes but it was just ok. The flavour was not extraordinary and it ended up being a big pile of meat. I’ve been on a long journey to find the burger 🍔 to crown all and this wasn’t it for me. The fries were just ok and a heavy 5$ extra kick to the shins for a meal that was so expensive.
Wife had the seafood pasta and mentioned it could have used some Parmesan but it was just ok. You had a decent portion got the price and given that it was seafood you definitely got a good size.
Daughter got her chicken fingers but was bewildered over the lack of sweet and sour and expected to just use ketchup. That was a bit of a shock. For 12$ kids meal the portion size was meh for chicken and the meat was overcooked and slender. We asked for any regular BBQ but that was so herbed up it was not ideal for a child.
Atmosphere. Too much packed into one interior space seating wise. We also witnessed countless (dozen or more) amounts of people who were confused as to where the bathroom was. Highly recommend a sign up high pointing to...
