I had high hopes for Lola Jewellers after meeting them at a wedding expo in Kitchener and reading positive reviews. My fiancé and I got a great deal on our wedding bands as well. As part of the process, Teresa took my engagement ring to size it for my enhancer that we had ordered. We were clear about what we wanted, and we watched them note everything down.

However, when I met with Teresa to try on the rings a week later, my enhancer was too small, and my engagement ring also seemed tight. I gave back the enhancer for resizing but took my engagement ring home, thinking my fingers were swollen. Later, I discovered that the original engraving was gone and they later admitted to having resized my engagement ring by accident. This not only voided the warranty from the original jeweller (thankfully the jeweller was understanding and honoured the warranty, so we didn’t lose it) but also took away something with sentimental value.

Teresa apologized, offered compensation, and rushed the corrections. If that’s all that had happened, this would have been rated higher. However, when I picked up the rings, the enhancer was still too small, and my engagement ring—while returned to its original size—was visibly misshapen and scratched. While all the original diamonds were intact, my ring was permanently altered and not round anymore.

I found Teresa (Lola) after doing some research online into boutiques in the GTA. The selection of ready made rings in their store front are some of the most unique pieces I have ever seen. That being said, I had a vision for the ring I wanted to design and had some rough sketches and details I knew were non negotiable.

Teresa suggested we get on a quick phone call where we went over all parameters and from my own rough idea, things I wanted to keep and change. This was very efficient, most of the jewellery stores I had reached out to suggested booking a time slot for multiple hours, once you spend four hours talking to someone about something I guess you’re likely to continue with them.

She was fast, efficient, helped me with my accelerated timeline and responded very quickly- if anything I was the bottle neck.
