I wanted to give no star but it wouldn't let me post without giving atleast one star. My friend and I took our kids on a playdate and, feeling hungry, decided to stop by this restaurant (inside the Erin Mills Mall location). We ordered what the menu described as “masala fries,” along with a thali and two Indian-style masala teas. The menu simply said masala fries—no mention of them being “loaded” or served with gravy.
In most restaurants, masala fries are regular fries coated in a light spice mix, making them mildly flavored and suitable for kids. However, when I picked up my order, the fries were drenched in gravy and topped with coriander. Confused, I went back to the counter and politely explained that I wanted plain masala fries without any toppings.
The lady at the counter went inside and returned, saying she could remove the fries on top and give them back to me. I tried explaining that I specifically ordered masala fries, not fries with gravy, and suggested that they should mention it on the menu. At this point, she called her manager.
The manager came out and, instead of resolving the issue, rudely told me they could only refund my money since they wouldn’t prepare a fresh batch of fries. She even argued that because I hadn’t specified the spice level, I had no right to ask for no gravy—which makes no sense given the lack of clarity on their menu. Her attitude was shockingly dismissive, and the customer service was outright terrible.
In the end, I got my money back, but the manager just walked off to the kitchen without a care. What happened to basic customer service? This experience was beyond disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreUpdate: Reduced from Five to three as had butter chicken and paneer tikka at a friend’s place and did not relish it! Earlier had found it an Amazing place to lunch in at Erin Mills Food court We tried the meat thali and butter chicken with naan The mutton was tender and the chicken curries delicious They serve you a daal makhani which again you s v well cooked delicious and creamy In the thali you have a choice of yoghurt or salad we chose the yogurt, a trifle salty but overall i would definitely recommend Also they serve one sweet with the thali , rasmalai or gulab jamun and we chose rasmalai , i found that a bit on the sweeter side and the dimension too is small! They serve just one per plate Their chaat too is good the biryani was had by friends who found it a bit dryish Their mango lassi gets sold out v fast And Definitely try their Tea! 👍 Last but not least i d like to mention Amitav a courteous and friendly manager who adds to the overall...
Read moreDefinitely not worth the price, when you have so many options to choose for at fairly competitive prices in the mall's food court.
Absolutely pathetic customer service while taking the order and asking the customer to wait for their order. No courteousness at all. I believe anybody opening a food based business definitely needs to spend some time in training their customer facing staff on importance of customer service.
I ordered for Butter chicken roti, their signature dish. It was one of the worst butter chicken preparation I have had with so large chunks of chicken which were undercooked. In addition, despite there being no crowd at all, they failed to prepare it per instructions. Their options to make it extra spicy is also a farce, as they just prepare it like a normal preparation despite opting for extra hot.
Apologies about the long review, but since I faced the same issue a second time, just wanted to give a heads up to...
