Back when we could travel, a savoury French crepe was a pleasant meal on our final vacation day strolling the Parisian streets. Nowadays we aren't going anywhere for the most part. But a decent crepe can still be had! Crêpes de Luxe is a fine add to our multicultural city. Believe it or not, it's a quaint shop in Erin Mills Town Centre.
We had the opportunity to try the Nutella Crepe, a quintessential sweet brunch. It's always fun to see a crepe come together on the station pan with an artistic whirl of the wood crepe spreader. A generous dose of chocolate hazelnut butter is drizzled atop plenty of ripe strawberries & banana. Fold into shape, then BAM: a perfect plate is served to our table!
With such a great find, it was worth sharing among a couple friends! We ordered 2 more sweet crepes. The Crepe with Rosewater Pistachio custard was exceptionally fragrant, soft and mouth pleasing. The other Crepe with Apple Pie & Cinnamon was reminiscent of a golden delicious pie with chunky filling. All will satisfy a sugar craving, yet are just the tip of the iceberg in the shop's extensive menu.
We also tried a savoury Crepe Monsieur, with Swiss cheese, ham & Dijon sauce. This was probably my favourite crepe: a warm crisp shell outside, good cured meat inside. To finish the meal, I shared an Espresso Affogato with my wife. The coffee was aromatic & strong to compliment the vanilla ice cream. Our friends enjoyed their iced latte with salted caramel too.
Our meal tasted better than at the dessert chain that rhymes with Dogwood Trees! If Crêpes de Luxe was located closer, we'd be tempted to become regular patrons. The family-run kitchen is passionate about their crepes. Looking forward to the next time we can drop by to taste more...
Read moreI was excited to try this place because having crêpes in Mississauga could have been like a taste of home in Ontario. We arrived at the place and a girl asked us to sit at a table. We had the time to look at the menu and saw some of the items were in French, which was good for us because we are both native speakers, but we realized it could be confusing for other people. Anyway, it was our first time there and we noticed 5 people working there, or pretending to work I should say. Apparently, we were supposed to order at the counter, but none of the staff bothered telling us anything. While we were waiting and waiting, they were chatting and walking by us without a care in the world. The restaurant itself is not big at all, only a few tables, it is nearly impossible for them to miss us for that long. Local people go to that place to try something new even though the prices are high, but I'm not willing to give my business to a place that don't care about customer service. Ingredients are not expensive ( it is milk and flour for the most part ), so what is the customer paying for? The experience. Won't go back at all. Staff is not paid well and none of them is hard working or willing to go the extra mile just to do a good job. They would rather do less than more, since they are still paid the same at the end of the day! The girls there need to be kept in check if the owner cares about their business because those kids will drive it to the ground! However, just by reading some of the responses, the owner lets his staff take care of of the reviews. Just read the responses, they sound like they're written by a...
Read moreWent there today with my kids. Placed an order for 2 crepes, 1 waffle, one waffle cup and a cappucino. About 15mins went by and i got 2 of the crepes and thats it. Me and one of my kids finished those as we wait for the rest of the order. Another 15 mins went by and finally got the waffle. My daughter finishes her waffle while my other daughter is waiting for her waffle cup and my coffee. I went inside eventually, and they had totally ignored the rest of my order but other customers are being served that came way after me. So I was pissed. One of the girls said it would take another 10 minutes so I declined, at this point I had already been here for an hr. Another girl is laughing at me being angry, and saying they are busy. I am well aware how busy your location gets as its not my first time there. Have been there manyyy times. I can wait 30/40 minutes no problem like i have in the past, but i dont want our orders to arrive 1 by1 at different times, thats not acceptable. Asked to speak to a manager or someone and they said she was busy, I asked for an email or phone # to contact a manager and they would not provide it. The skinny young girls attitude was disgusting. I really think you guys need to speak to your employees and train them how to handle difficult situations and mistakes with customers or they should not be working there. Extremely disappointed as I had to go elsewhere for my...
