Bistro La Cite — Restaurant in Montreal

I don't know where to start with how incredible this restaurant is! They are tremendously kind and generous - plus their meals are DELICIOUS. We ordered the breakfast plate (jam-packed with delicious sausages, bacon, ham, eggs, salad, hash browns, and toast), the stack of (the FLUFFLIEST) pancakes with maple syrup, and their strawberry mango & banana smoothie. Oh my goodness did Bistro La Cite go above and beyond. They sent everything to us with such care and even sent us extra hash browns and a croissant - plus a kind note! It was just the joy and hearty meal we needed.

this is hands-down the most underrated spot in all of Montreal. if they had a storefront above-ground, i'm confident they'd have lines out the door all day. the food is amazing, not too expensive, and still fresh. they probably have the best pain au chocolat/chocolatine i've ever had in my entire life. but what sets this place apart is the staff! Rosie, her husband, and their two kids that i've met have been SO sweet, welcoming, friendly, kind, etc, even beyond the customer interactions. it took me coming in ONCE for Rosie to recognize me, remember who i was/where and what i studied/etc. they truly go above and beyond every time, so if you're ever in the MP area give these lovely folks...

This place is my kinda place! The staff make you feel at home. It’s a family owned restaurant and they are super cute and really really nice. You can tell they work really hard - it’s a business worth supporting.

The coffee was EXCELLENT! My partner and I order the full breakfast (eggs, bacon, hashbrown, toast + salad) - my partner loved it. The portions were really generous too! For my taste it was a little too greasy. If you love grease, then go for it but it upset my stomach for a few hours after. I will definitely be back though for the coffee and the warm friendly vibe provided...
