Always a wonderful experience with the ladies at Lucy's, I would highly recommend them for their exceptional skills and amazing service!

I have brought a number of dresses and garments to Lucy's for minor alterations over the last few years, and have always had a great experience, but most recently had the pleasure of working with Ban on my wedding dress!

Due to some family circumstances, we had moved up the timeline for our civil ceremony and I was in a rush to find a dress. I was working with a certain budget since this one was going to be a second dress in addition to the one I would buy for our bigger celebration next year, but I was struggling to find something that I loved and that still felt special enough to be my wedding dress.

At my first appointment, Ban and Eman patiently listened to what I liked and disliked about each of the dresses I had found online, and walked me through my options and their recommendations regarding what alterations could be made to each. I really appreciated and valued their expertise in pointing out certain things that I never would have even known to look for - for example, the grain of the fabric and how it was cut, and what that meant in terms of what we could do with the dress. You can tell that Ban and Eman are incredibly knowledgeable, take immense pride in their work and are honest in their recommendations.

I ended up selecting a simple satin halter dress, and Ban worked her magic to transform it into exactly what I had envisioned! She completely remade the top half of the dress, changing the neckline into exactly what I wanted, and added custom beadwork at the back. She was able to take elements that I liked from each dress we had looked at together and combined them into one that was made just for me! Ban truly is a magician with a needle and thread!! Her attention to detail is also incredible - there was no such thing as 'good enough', she made sure every part of the dress was perfect. My dress was completely customized for me and turned out even better than I had imagined!

I also appreciated that Ban asked me to come back and try on the dress as progress was being made, so that I was fully involved in the process and the end result was a custom dress that was exactly what I wanted and fits perfectly!

As every bride can imagine, the most stressful part of the wedding dress “experience” is putting your precious gown in the hands of someone else to alter it. What if something goes wrong? You have to look perfect on the most important day of your life, but you also don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it. I found Lucy’s through google reviews after filtering alterations places that had a 4.0 or higher star rating. The location is super close to my home so I decided to check it out. From the first day my sister and I went there to get our dresses looked at, the ladies were super friendly and accommodating even though we didn’t have an appointment booked. They had us try on our dresses first then asked what we wanted to alter and what our budget was. They have many pictures from past brides up on their wall which gave us confidence that they knew what they were doing. They worked incredibly quickly and our first round of alterations were done within 2 weeks, even though Christmas holidays were in that time period. They were super helpful with suggestions but ultimately left the decisions to us as we were the ones that would have to wear the dress in the end. At one point I accidentally pricked my finger on a pin while being fitted for cups, and got some blood on my white dress. She immediately took the dress to the back and knew exactly how to clean it without ruining the fabric which took so much stress off of me.

When we picked up the dresses after the final rounds of alterations, everything fit perfectly and looked amazing. There was no loose seam work or errors on either dress.
