Tired of grocery stores that think it's okay to miss lead it's customers. Produce on self was tagged product of Mexico. Sign said was Canada 1 grade. These tomatoes were not grade 1 they were grade 3 at best. So after talking with the someone and they did not know how to fix the sign, I used a marker and corrected where the product was from and regraded it to a 3. The young lad did his best to help me and was all good. At the end when I was getting my last thing I needed, an older man approached me asking if I changed the sign. Said I had so it was correct. He started getting rude and in my face trying to take my picture. I asked him to let me be and finish my shopping. He would not and called me outside, I asked for a manager, he said he was. When I explained I had already asked for a manager earlier and there wasn't one here, that they had all gone home. He got more frustrated and in my face. He dished it out and speaking over him I explained that the store was not allowed to put products on the self from Mexico and say they are from Canada and miss grade them and by this time other customers could hear the both of us. At this point just wanted to pay and leave. I was making my way to the checkout he got more in my face, and put his finger on my chest pointing at me. I told to him to back off don't touch me or I would call the police and he stepped back but kept up with his rudeness. And then the cashier started also. I dropped my groceries that were in a carry basket on the floor at the checkout and left. Apparently this food basics thinks its okay to mislead customers, lie and harass them. The young lad had already looked after it and I was satisfied, all was well. This other employee should have just minded his business and kept to himself. Food Basics and Metro, keep your food! Will make sure I shop somewhere else always going forward cheerfully and even go out of my...
Read moreFriday, Aug 2 5pm. Was in line to purchase groceries. Cashier walked away no explanation. Another customer came along asked where is cashier. An employee walked by. The customer asked Is there someone at this checkout. The women yelled repeatedly I’m clocked out Don’t speak to me. You have no right to talk to me when I’m clocked out. The customer said I’m just asking. The women walked away , a couple seconds later she came back with a man following her. The customer said I was just trying to find out if the cashier is coming back. The employee yelled You have no right to talk to me You are rude. The fellow behind said You were rude I saw the whole thing. Even though he was not there during the occurrence. As a customer we have no way of knowing if an employee is off shift. It would have taken two seconds to give a polite answer. I think this womans total lack of customer service skills was appalling. Ps the cashier also could have said Ill be right back but she said nothing. Totally unpleasant experience. These two could use a few classes in...
Read moreI guess I should've known this, but product placement is a factor, and I bought what I thought was real parmesan cheese from an area that appeared to be real parmesan. I got home from the store and realized that I had purchased a grated cheese product, which was in the same area. I returned to the store thinking I could return it. Upon arrival at a customer service/ checkout , waited in line and was told to go do any other shopping, and return with my purchases and they would indeed return the take cheese. I grabbed a pre-roasted chicken, and some peppers to make sure I went beyond the original amount, so I could pay the difference. After ringing in the new purchases, I was informed that the manager had informed the employee that because of Covid, a return was not possible. I should've been informed before she started ringing in the...
