It started from the time the book order was placed. A digital textbook was left off my order list when I went to pick up my texts. The confirmation notice stated that my entire order was fulfilled, but it wasn't once I arrived there. "Staff" consist of lazy campus students who choose to pass the buck instead of getting to the root of a problem. For example, I was told that a "rep" for digital textbooks would contact me the next day to follow-up on the mix-up. I had a suspicion that no one would do so, and I was 100% correct. I contacted the bookstore help desk who advised that they could not help resolve the issue, and I had to contact the publisher myself. After numerous emails between me, the publisher, and the help desk, the publisher instructed me to directly contact the bookstore manager. After failed attempts trying to reach the bookstore manager because the extension was restricted not to accept calls, a final email to them finally got their attention. The "help" desk then replied stating that they would "intervene on my behalf" (???). Actually, it should not have taken numerous emails and phone calls on my part to get things done. Someone dropped the ball while entering my order and didn't want to account for his/her faux pas. Welcome to the next generation of...
Read moreSo disappointing. This is not my first post-secondary school, and I have never had problems anywhere quite like this. Last semester I had a tough time getting the one book I needed for the term. This semester I ordered one of my books and it never came. So I emailed them asking where it is and when I can expect it, and 19 days after I ordered it they let me know my order had been canceled! 19 days! And their solution was to tell me to just reorder the book. Now I'm 3 weeks behind in that class! Now I've ordered it off amazon, which I should have done to begin with. Another one of my books was listed as unavailable and in had been emailing them repeatedly to find out when it was in, then they email me back after several days to say it's in stock, so I immediately placed my order, only to get an email the next morning that that order had been canceled due to insufficient stock! I was working with my prof to figure out what to do next as the book was not available anywhere and the book showed up at my house?! So disorganized! And they take forever to email you back (if they do) and have yet to return a single one of my...
Read moreIn general, it's an okay store, but I believe there's plenty of room for improvement. I purchased a snack but later discovered it was expired. Upon returning, I informed the staff, hoping they would check the remaining items for freshness.
Regarding the prices on the shelves, I find them to be too high. Items sold on campus should be more affordable to encourage students to buy and increase overall sales. The low patronage levels likely contribute to issues like expired products.
As for the Seneca-branded items, they seem overly expensive. I fail to see why they are priced higher than similar items found elsewhere. Personally, I'm not concerned about branding; I can easily purchase similar items elsewhere and customize them at...
