Has always trusted Seneca for Personal Growth and used to be a great school to attend including all Instructors that were very great in educating students.
the school has been improved tremendously with new development and infrastructure within the campus. Some were a great change however here are some that needs people to know (if they haven’t been learned already) …
They put part time students to a class that way too far to and confusing to navigate. Part timers should not be wasting their time walking through all those grandiose lobby and stairs knowing everyone attending are coming and going to their jobs before/after.
Tuition fees are generally higher than before specially online classes.
Refunds are DEDUCTED on EACH course you registered in IF you happen to cancel for a reason. So, if registered for 4 courses at the same time and you cancel it before those class starts, you will be deducted each course for a fee rather than just one fee. I find it ridiculous and sort of a feeling that you feel you got scammed for the amount they charged you for an admin fee even if you booked it online. THERE SHOULD BE a way a student can cancel the course within 2 classes w/0 being charged for admin fee, and this should also be dine online if a student enrolled via online. Most students will cancel due to some time students don’t match with teachers and students are getting the vibe they will not understand the teacher type of teaching procedure. If you cancel within 3 to 4 days attending the class then it should be subjected to admin fee.
Instructors before are way better than the teachers now.
Courses should only have two options to avoid confusion from students. Online classes is an online class and in-class is an in-class…no other mixed online/in-class module.
Parking fee has drastically increased. Even just picking up a book or go to help desk to ask information you will need to park and pay. No designated parking for people for this reason. It becomes a money grabbing business for parking.
Im sure others have seen the big difference of the school then and now.
Customer service has also one of the biggest issue. Some pleasant but the majority are beyond ungrateful people, they should not be working there.
Library is not designed to help students learn. They can’t lend a book for student who can’t afford extra dollars to pay for a book aside from high tuition fees. Part time students should be able borrow a book for their course, don’t they? Or even copy the content of the course material so they can study at home. But no, students need to pay hundreds dollars for a book in order to understand the content of their course.
Many other students for sure have had good and bad experiences but shouldn’t all students have good...

So I decided to revisit my academia at this institution and big mistake. I took the autocad course and the instructor here was sooo high and incompetent he would consistently ask us the students to help teach the class. Always late and with no respect doesn't even grade assignments or anything properly. I spoke with the head of the department and nothing was done. If you get an instructor named " Victor Alexander Szeghami " asked to another instructor or better yet take your money elsewhere cuz the instructors here are lazy and half assed and will dock marks for their mistakes. When I took the fire fighting course here the instructors I ran into were just absolutely amazing but I can see that not only has the quality of the system gone down but so has the instructors.
Update
The new system called the service hub which is supposed to stream line requests is absolutely worse than the original system. If you are looking for inconvenience and CSR with handcuffs that limit their job and expertise I highly recommend Seneca. I tried speaking on the phone, virtual chat and was forced to come in person for a simple request to speak with registration since the Seneca service hub works only on emails and they are not allowed to transfer to FA or Registration. I also tried getting assistance through the operator and they don't bother to listen and just transfer at their discretion to clear up the phone line.
Long story short, if you are looking for an institution that cares about service, your better bet would be Humber or centennial since they have actually knowledgeable staff that have a system that empowers them to help students as this institution has changed and not for the better.
Spoke to Sarah at the service hub and she was a gem, super helpful and really nice. I now have much more clarity regarding the process and feel more comfortable with the transcript requests.
Much different from the first time I called and got Adriana who did not know anything, her suggestion for everything was transferring and her favorite response was I don't know. Plus she hung up on me, not sure if it was intentional but either way, didn't bother to follow up either via email or call back.
Thank you Sarah for your assistance, it really helps that I called back and got you to assist me. Definitely can tell the difference between someone who cares about their job and someone who is...
Read moreTerrible College with scam degrees. Carefully consider it before applying here. Your prospective employer wouldn't even look forward to hiring you. They are not interested in you, your future skill-set and your integration into the workforce. They are rather interested in your money.
I took Civil Engineering Program which was a total nightmare. It has a lot of courses which are completely irrelevant and useless. They are all over the place and try to teach you a little bit of everything, so that you spend more time and they get more funding off of you which is a complete rip-off. There are no bridge or proper co-op programs - most of the students, even within the top students are unemployed after graduation or work at the most entry-level minimum-wage jobs which do not require any experience or education.
Most of the professors have a lot of hubris and arrogance which is normal, but not when they have this attitude of "I am smarter than you". It is worth mentioning that some of them have troubles with expressing themselves in English. They particularly should get rid of Owen Steele. Not only he is just an unpleasant person who would humiliate you in class, but he deliberately fails you for no reason and picks on anything he doesn't like. The more people they fail, the more money they can earn. The academic advisor is rude and not helpful at all.
Overall, the place is overcrowded. There are a lot of international students who don't know why they are there. They just copy the work from each other and don't understand any purpose of the assignments mostly. Cafeteria is expensive and there are barely any healthy food choices. Parking is very expensive. They charge you for everything they can because it is just a business and a huge scam. They are not giving you any skills to become successful in your career and start making money.
Stay away. This is just a big joke. If you want to find a minimum wage job, don't bother wasting your money here. If you want a decent career, just go to any credible University with...
