I highly recommend Deer Garden Signatures North York located at 3555 Don Mills Rd #4, North York, ON M2H 3N3. This Chinese restaurant is an absolute must-visit, especially if you're in the North York area!
Recently, my friend drove me to this fantastic spot to celebrate the end of the semester, and it was an incredible experience. The restaurant itself is incredibly inviting, with a comfortable and modern ambiance that sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience.
As for the food, I opted for their delightful combo, which consisted of the mouthwatering Red Braised Pork Tender Bone on Rice priced at $12.99, along with a refreshing Red Bean Ice for only $2.5. The flavours were exceptional, and the portion size was perfect for a satisfying meal.
What impressed me the most was the quick service provided by the attentive staff. Within just 15 minutes, our orders arrived at the table, and we were delighted to discover that the dishes were prepared with fresh ingredients. It was evident that the restaurant takes pride in delivering top-quality meals promptly.
If you happen to visit Deer Garden Signatures North York by yourself, I suggest going for the combo option. It's an excellent choice that perfectly caters to a single person's appetite. Additionally, the restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, including delectable noodles and other enticing options to suit every palate.
Overall, Deer Garden Signatures North York is a remarkable Chinese restaurant that you simply cannot miss if you're in the area. From the inviting atmosphere to the swift service and delicious food, it checks all the boxes for a memorable dining experience. Make sure to pay them a visit—you won't be...
Read moreDeer Garden is a GTA staple for Asian noodles, specifically their fish soup base. They've raised the price for the standard noodle combo to $15.75, which I still think is reasonable for the current food prices we see. The combo comes with a noodle, two toppings of your choice, and a drink. My favorite is the Original Fish Soup, and I usually get Sliced Beef and Luncheon Meat. The noodles already come with some toppings like napa cabbage and tofu skin, so it's not only the two toppings you pick. Getting the meat options are probably more worth it. I also get the rice noodle (thick) and the cold milk tea. It says that you need to pay $0.75 for the take out beverage, but mine was in a take-out ready container without asking.
There is also the option to get discounted side dishes with each order of noodles. My favorite is the popcorn chicken, which is actually delicious. You can add it on for $4.50, compared to $9 if you order it separately.
They now offer Hainanese chicken on rice or in a noodle form. This is new so there's a promotional price going on, $13 down from $16. My boyfriend tried this and it was actually pretty good - the portion of chicken looks small but the cut of meat is good and doesn't contain bones like most other places. They also offer two dipping sauces, the traditional green onion ginger sauce is in a paste format which is actually not bad. I actually enjoy the fact that it's not as oily as the traditional sauce, but some people might not enjoy it.
Overall I like Deer Garden for a casual meal. The price is a bit higher now but not unreasonable, expect to spend around $50 including tax and tip for two diners. Also they only take...
Read moreDeer Garden Signatures is one that I frequent, but I usually go to the RH branch. This was my first time visiting the North York location. The restaurant is bright and spacious, but the hygiene level was just so-so.
We usually order signature fish noodles combo when we visit Deer Garden, but this time, we decided to try the Curry Lamb with Rice and the Ginkgo & pepper fish soup with sliced beef & fish fillet with Vermicelli(thin).
To be honest, compared to the RH branch, the soup base at this location completely lacked the taste of pepper and fish. The ingredients were also just average.
Curry Lamb with Rice: The coconut and curry flavors were well-balanced, and the lamb had a nice chewiness. The only downside was that I wished they had given a bit more rice!
Service: We really tried not to compare, but the service from the two staff members here was just terrible. Sorry to say, but our tip reflected that. When we paid, one of them even commented, “That’s such a small tip.” 😅🥲
Also, it was a weekday dinner time, and they weren’t very busy. Instead of attending to customers, they stood next to our table chatting loudly, gossiping, and even using...
