Worst retail experience I may have ever had. Planned on specifically visiting this location to redeem points with my daughter which is usually a fun. This store has two levels, the first is a beauty boutique. There were at least 4 staff for this area plus a security guard. We split up and were each separately asked if we'd like help and because we wanted to browse and shop, we said no thank you, not just yet. Now here would have been the time for those people to say "you may notice our testers are out again, however please don't actually use them." or "We can wipe a sample on your hand with a tissue if you like." You know, like when you go into ANY store and the person at the front says "Just wanted to let you know that we have 30% off all regular priced merchandise today."

Instead, we were approached by a security guard after a few minutes being in the store who said "YOU'RE not allowed to use the testers. THERE ARE SIGNS EVERYWHERE" and then proceeded to point them out. We never even got an opportunity to say, so sorry, we didn't see the signs. Which by the way were about 4" x 3" with a short paragraph of small type in black. Having said that I actually saw one display fixture that said 'Try me'. As if that scolding wasn't bad enough, a cosmetics staff memeber while walking by with another customer blurted out 'THERE ARE SIGNS EVERYWHERE'.

With those many people working in this tiny section, socializing around the check out with iced coffees, you'd think someone could have 'nicely' informed us when we walked in. If you don't recall, when Covid first became and issue, Shoppers removed all the testers, so we assumed because they were there out in the open, not plastic or signs right on top of them there would be no harm in swiping product on the back of our hand to wipe off with our own sanitizer.

So I'd like to publicly warn you, please don't use...

had the worst experiences shopping at the beauty boutique. I was the only one at the store at the time. Victoria and Julianne (I found their names on the stores instagram). They were chatting with each other and did not even acknowledge me when I walked in but they both stared at me like I was interrupting their conversation by walking into the store. They did not greet me or ask if I needed any help. Victoria only helped me when Julianna left the conversation because she was off. Victoria was so rude to me when I asked her to show me the shades for a product. There was a limited amount of shades and none of them worked super well with my skin tone so when I ask her which one she thought was best she just told me they all looked bad and walked away. It is a blush it so no blush looks "bad" it just which one works best with the skin tone. Even if they did look bad she could have said it in a nicer way. I then went up to her again asking for a product I saw online she showed it to me but it did not look the same so I asked if it was the same one as the one on the phone she seemed offended that I questioned her. I walked around the store some more and when I passed next to the door Juliana whips her head around and starts staring me down when Im looking around. She was watching and following me down like I was going to steal something. I may not be dresses super nice on my day off going shopping but why would you profile someone??? I wanted to go upstairs to grab something from the pharmacy and pay upstairs as I did not want to be checked out by Victoria who was mean. But apparently they don't allow beauty products upstairs so I had to be checked out by Victoria. When she check me out I said thank you have a good day at the end and she just kept chewing her gum or something that...

After school yesterday, I was with my friend and we were both purchasing gifts for our boyfriends. I knew exactly what I wanted to get him and the box was located right near the cashier so I picked up the box and followed my friend to get her gift near the back of the store. I was stopped by a lady who proceeded to aggressively grab the box out of my hands and rudely told me I was not allowed to walk around the store with the box unless I was ready to checkout. I was a little confused as I have never had any issues carrying items around with me in a store but just let it go. Every corner I turned she was there starting and me and giving me not so pleasant looks. I felt a little targeted due to her prior rudeness and aggression towards me. When I was ready to checkout I went back to grab the gift and found her speed walking behind me and cut in front of me to grab it first. I felt extremely uncomfortable and I got the impression she thought I was trying to steal it. While cashing me out, I was reaching into my bag to grab my wallet and she grabbed the box off the table and told me I had to pay for the item before taking it with me. I was very upset as all I simply did was reach into my bag and she thought I was trying to steal it. I also asked for a gift receipt and a bag and she proceeded to not give me either one of those, she just left the box with my receipt on the table and walked to another worker and started talking to her and pointing to me and my friend. I am very disappointed with the customer service at this Shoppers Drug Mart as I felt extremely targeted. Her behaviour was extremely inappropriate to me and made me feel very uncomfortable as she showed me rudeness, aggression, and watched me the entire time I was in the store. I will NOT be returning to...

Store is pretty organized and clean. It's a really big store location with 3 floors (Food & Personal Care, Beauty, Pharmacy & Post Office). They also serve as a COVID vaccination or testing centre as well. There's a PC financial ATM as well on the second floor near the back. I do appreciate they kept part of the musical history and has the Friar's Music Museum in the second floor corner near the stairs. Do note, they only keep one entrance open at a time (when I went it was the Yonge Street side not the Dundas Square side). This unit is pretty big and houses a lot of inventory vs other smaller units like the one in Eaton Centre. Definitely sometimes quieter than the one in Eaton Centre due to less customers from the mall. The downside is sometimes there's no staff around to help if you have questions. Otherwise, good to go in grab some stuff and leave.

Note: A brand new location that opened on June 28, 2018. So, the reviews before this date are incorrect and refer to the wrong location. Some images too. On to the review.... The new store is a unique reimagining of the space once occupied by the Hard Rock Cafe and Friar's Tavern. It has a rock and roll tribute to its musical roots on the first floor. The pharmacy and post office are located in the basement. The main floor offers high end Cosmetics such as Chanel and Clinique, which is unique to Shoppers Drug Mart. There is a decent selection of food offered on the upper floor.

This location has great variety and quite a lot of inventory. It even has a Canada post and pharmacy which are both very convenient for the central downtown location. However the store layout is a pain. The ground floor is all cosmetics. So you have to either take stairs or an extremely slow elevator to the second floor for the drinks, food, and general inventory. Or go down the elevator/stairs to the basement for the pharmacy/medical items/Canada post.
