I recently had the pleasure of meeting Karen, the owner of this incredible boutique store located in the underground at 50 Bloor Street West (Holt Renfrew Centre). The Toronto Designers Market is one of those stores you walk into and before you know it - you’re retail therapy has begun. The displays in the store range from seasonal, niche, decorative, personal (clothes and style) to houseware and specialty items. There is jewellery, belts, bags (oh the bags are next level!), candles, clothing (the jackets …. Oh yes the jackets!!) and a lot great finds for the eyes to take in and take home! Karen was engaging, friendly and knew her store’s products - you can tell she is mindful of quality, style and personalizing your shopping experience. I popped by today and the racks are filling up, the displays were being tended to and restyled for the upcoming holiday season. This is the perfect place to find that special gift (or two) for someone - I look forward to seeing what she will be putting out this year. We are beyond excited they have agreed to be a sponsor for our upcoming feature film project, Daring Greatly and I look forward to knocking a few items off my gift list this Christmas. If you’re looking for high quality, unique gift items for anyone on your list (including yourself), this is where you want to be shopping … did I mention the bags!! Updating live from the Sip and Shop at Toronto Designers Market for Karen’s birthday.

An interesting space that turned out to be something different fhen I thought it was going to be. TDM stands for Toronto Designer Market. My thought was a shy fashion desinger trying to get their atuff on the marketplace. Or maybe a consignment store for "gently used' fashion pieces. NOPE! This space is divided up into little 4x4x12" H stalls where people are selling vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, knitted scarfs and toques. There is quite an eclectic assortment of items available. A coupke if empty spaces remain

Great venue to find local art "all under one roof". Many different booths with delicately curated exhibits/shops. A little on the pricier side considering there are many vintage shops around, but definitely unique. You can also get coffee there and hang out around this fantastic area!

This hidden gem in Yorkville is the definition of unique quiet luxury and quintessential boutique designer trends. Karen curates a selection of product that is both timeless and incredibly stylish. If you are looking for that wow factor in your wardrobe, that no one else has, this is the place to go. If Karen does not have it, she will source it. Everything about this place (product, service, merchandising, quality, staff, knowledge) screams classic upscale retailing. Any time I am going on a vacation, or if I have an event coming up, I make time to swing by. If I have an employee, peer, or family member who has a life event or celebration, I make sure to get a gift from the shop. This store has become a part of my lifestyle.

I am a huge fan of the swim selection, the evening wear, the leather goods, and the M and B home fragrance collections.

I could write a whole second review about Karen herself. Karen’s expertise, and the blessing that is her presence, are just some of the reason she remains so successful in such a volatile industry. Having worked the fashion scene in Paris, styling for musical performers, designing her own product lines, and merchandising all across the globe…….Karen (the owner) is an inspiration in artistry. I did not know Karen before shopping here, but she has become a large part of my life…..that is how extraordinary this woman is. If you choose not to stop by this place, you’re missing an opportunity to access some of the finest goods and service...

Such lovely experiences I’ve had at this beautiful store — it’s a gem, as is its owner Karen! Most of the pieces are sourced from local Canadian designers and the collections are always wonderfully curated. The remainder of the pieces come from high quality designers sourced from elsewhere (e.g., I picked up some gorgeous knit shrugs that were made in Italy). Karen has a great eye for selecting pieces that resonate with her customers, and has a knack for putting it all together. She’s also very passionate about fashion & promoting up-and-coming designers, and is incredibly nice (and has great taste in paper…Florentine stationery & wrapping…sigh). A one-stop for unique linen and cotton pieces (warm months), evening wear, wearable jewellery and accessories, and tasteful home decor—highly...
