I waited on my review for multiple reasons, but just ask the product guides how long they've been waiting for this five star review 😭 (probably about three weeks ago I said I'd write this).
TLDR; five star service, the product guides are not called salespeople for a reason (they guide you to the products you need), top tier products, pricey but there certainly is a reason for the price!
The biggest reason that I had to wait on this review was because I had to test the knowledge of the product guides in practice. This was to make sure that I spent my money correctly, and to make absolutely sure that they knew what they were talking about (i.e. from experience or reading up on others' issues, then getting engineering to fix the problems). I avoid snake oil salesmen like the plague.
I had to test if the products at Arc'teryx were worth the money, because looking at my bill the first day almost made me pass out. As the days passed, I got much more active than I had been prior, and the feedback received (and implementation of it) on the products by product guides, hikers, walkers, climbers, etc., was immediately apparent.
The product guides at Arc'teryx Vaughan Mills are extremely genuine, and they won't let you waste your money at their store. You sort of have to go in with a self-diagnostic mentality if you want to get the best bang for your buck. But, regardless, the product guides will help you get everything you need from their store to walk, hike, climb, jog, run, and so much more. Even if you don't know exactly what you want or need, they will.
Ryan, in particular, helped me pick out a lot on the first day I went to the store. He talked with me for hours about my struggles while taking my long walks, especially those ones in the rain. That's one of the things that sets Arc'teryx apart from its competition. The employees, and the strong implementation of Gore-Tex. Arc'teryx has the best implementation of Gore-Tex around. If you need a light (or heavy), windproof and waterproof jacket, go here.
There was also another gentleman named either Travis or Trevor (I'm so sorry, dude) who helped me pick my backpack. He was very kind and caring. He was able to direct me to what I needed, just like all of the product guides at this store. Lu and Jess (I think? Sorry, I'm horrible with names) were also able to direct me to the places in-store that I wanted products from. They found the products for me, and also found them in all assortments of colours that I wanted. All of the other employees, even the ones who hadn't specifically helped me choose something or direct me to its location, were all very genuine, helpful, and talkative (in the good way).
I was going to go into depth about the products I got and why they're great (and some missing just a teeeeny tiny bit), but this review is already too long. And besides, it's supposed to be based on the specific storefront anyways.
I enjoyed my time at this store. When I start to make some more money, I will be a returning, frequent customer to this storefront in particular. I'm sure all of the other ones are great, but this...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed with the service I received after purchasing an expensive jacket from this store. One of the main reasons I chose to buy from them—despite the high price—was because they promised warranty and guaranteed support for their products.
Unfortunately, when something went wrong with my jacket and I contacted them, not only did they refuse to take responsibility, but they also asked me to pay for the repair out of pocket. To make things worse, they told me they weren’t even sure if it could be fixed after paying!
This is completely unacceptable for a company that charges premium prices and claims to stand behind their products. If I pay that much for a jacket, I expect proper customer care, not vague promises and added charges. At the very least, they should cover the repair cost or guarantee that the issue will be resolved if I’m expected to pay.
This whole experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend buying from them unless you’re okay with spending a lot of money and getting no real support when something goes wrong. This is not how quality brands should treat...
Read moreI’ve visited this store twice and had two negative experiences.
I dropped off a coat for warranty issues. The associate took my jacket and told me it would take weeks to receive a response or an update on my jacket. This was on February 14th. Months have gone by and I had reached out to Arcteryx to request an update and I was told the jacket had been lost and received a credit for the jacket value. I appreciated the gesture but I really liked my older jacket and would not have gone through the trouble of sending it just for it to be lost.
I returned to the store with the intention of spending my credit. I tried on a jacket and one of the associates just stared at me until I placed it back on the rack. I asked her if she had any similar styles and she said no because “it’s hard to do mountain climbing in a long jacket.” I am familiar with the products and I knew there were longer jackets than the hip length ones. I left the store empty handed and found a better jacket online and matched the credit I received from the lost jacket and what I was...
