This team and their services made everything so convenient. I knew I’d be tired from traveling all day so I booked to meet them at my condo at 7 pm. They arrived promptly and happened to bring 5 choices of skis … the quantity of choices may have had something to do with the me having trouble describing my skiing abilities. Due to the weather conditions I wanted to try some fat skis. After Day 1 I decided to switch to lighter parabolic skis that were slightly shorter. Since they were located close to my room (Mountainside Lodge) I switched them out and it was no trouble. The K2s were awesome! They also offered to pick up my skis at the lodge after I was done but instead I dropped them off due to their convenient location. It was so much nicer than lugging my own skis and poles during my travels and more reasonable than renting through the ski resort. This was my second booking with Black Tie and I’d definitely...
Read moreGreat customer experience! Forget customer service, that’s expected. Black Tie creates a wonderful experience making it easy for weary travelers to grab their gear and go. They start by bringing the rentals to your property and fitting you in the comfort of your own space. Then, they will pick them up when you are done with your vacation. If you find you need to exchange or change your equipment, just stop in the store and they will help you with a smile on their face. Don’t want to carry your skis home each day? They will let you keep your skis at their store front at the base of the slopes and pick them up the next morning. They will even hold your regular shoes for you while you are on the slopes. During our stay we encountered Matt, Charlie, Ned, and a lovely woman in the store and all of them were beyond accommodating and super friendly. Definitely would use this...
Read moreI've been snowboarding for nearly 20 years. I made a mistake of not bringing my own gear to Whistler and rented the "premium" package from Black Ties. Unfortunately, the equipment I received was subpar - the snowboard was mediocre, the bindings kept coming undone, and the boots were so uncomfortable that I couldn't even ride down the mountain. When I approached the shop to inquire about exchanging my gear, the staff treated me disrespectfully and blamed the delivery guy for improper fitting. They offered me a different size of the same inadequate K2 boot, despite my request to try other brands I asked if they had other boots and they said no. What's the point of a premium package if all you have is the same low-mid grade equipment? If you're anything above a beginner, this place is not for you. I ended up going to Spicy Sports right next door and my experience was so...
