RMU Whistler — Restaurant in Whistler Resort Municipality

After a long, dusty bike ride through Whistler, we stumbled into R.M.U. Blackcomb, not expecting much, just hoping for a chill spot to refuel. The vibe was instantly welcoming: laid-back atmosphere, good tunes, and those gloriously comfy foldable lawn chairs that practically begged us to sink in and stay awhile.

We wandered up to the bar and ordered food. The bartender casually claimed they had the best burger in town. We laughed, told him we were self-proclaimed “burger cynosures” (yes, we take our patties seriously), and ordered two different burgers just to test the theory.

And then… OH. MY. GOD.He wasn’t kidding. These burgers were next-level, juicy, flavourful, perfectly cooked, and hands-down the best we’ve had in Whistler. We were floored.

We highly recommend for the Incredible burgers that live up to the hype, duper chill atmosphere with great seating, friendly, down-to-earth service, and cool merch if you want to take a piece of the vibe home

We came here once for dinner 2021 winter, because the place we wanted to go nearby was not open. The night turned out to be the most lovely time with delicious food and drink, amazing live music and wonderful atmosphere.

Today we were here again with some friends for the same reason - the place we wanted to go for lunch was not open. This time we didn’t hesitate to go to RMU.

Perhaps no longer a surprise this time, the lunch once again turned out to be awesome. Most burgers on the menu have an off season price at 10$, which was a super sweet deal. We were a group of four adult and one kid. We had the smash burger (12$), chicken burger and salmon burger ($10 each). They were all great. We also had pull pork taco 🌮 with regular price - three for $20. They were delicious, juicy, with a kick of green chili. The only thing that was not perfect was fries, but no complaint at all.

Coffees and drinks were also on half price.

At the end we ordered one more chicken burger.

RMU used to be my go-to spot with groups, however, they changed their menu and their vegan options (and service) are disappointing. There is only 1 vegan main, a veggie burger. It was definitely flavourful however the server failed to inform our group that the vegan option does not come with a bun. It also does not say this on the menu… so to our surprise we received our veggie burgers on top of some cabbage. Had we known this in advance we would have changed our order for someone in our group who wanted to try the vegan option but was not vegan. We also ordered a side caesar salad, and they brought out a bowl of lettuce & croutons with no dressing. We found it very bizarre that the server made no effort to ask or clarify the order. Not sure why anyone would want to order lettuce and croutons and the server should have picked that up. Sad to say but we will not...
