We do pay 156 dollars a day now (+ tax)...To ski from 9:30 ish after all the line up to 2:30-3ish.
Could you at least leave it open until 3 ?
You decide to close the main part earlier. But that small cafe that sells snacks and warm drinks...Really ? You have to have a dedicated staff member stand here, refusing to serve people a simple coffee before the last run down the station. What does it cost you to run a coffee booth 30 more minutes ?
I was in the line. The last one. The staff member who was standing just behind me, deterring other customers, told me that I was so lucky because I made the cut. She told me like twice, like I won the lottery. She prevented like 20 people in less than 5 minutes to get coffee. It was really cold that day. She was also laughing about the situation with 2 of her colleagues which was very unprofessional, bragging about how many customers she kicked out of the line.
Whistler/Blackcomb, really, you guys are pushing it a bit too far now. Soon, we will have to thank you and praise you to let us ski for 156 dollars a day and charging us 15 dollars for a waffle. + tax of course... I understand it costs to run a ski resort on the top left corner of America. You charge us big money for it, and we still come. But it is more of an attitude issue here. Really ? you cannot open a coffee booth for a few more minutes for your freezing customers to warm up before the last run ? And you have to tell them no, quite in a vicious way and treat them like cattle ? Yes, we are ready to pay this much to come and ski at your resort, I guess you now all see us as milking...
Read moreFor on mountain food, this is a very good choice. Distinctly different from the other lodge (Rendezvous) and well laid out. You've a huge upstairs dining area where you can usually find seats, and if the weather allows, two levels of large patio area to soak up the sun.
Personally, I'm very partial to a quick Poutine here. I can be in an out of the food court easily and always enjoy it. Be friendly to the staff, they are mostly here on working holidays and they really are...
Read moreOne of two main dining options for when you are skiing. It gets busy at noon but fine otherwise. The food offering has gone downhill!(ha!) significantly in recent times. Most lunch offerings are tiny and expensive (avoid the Vijs Indian curry. Tiny, bland and expensive). Coffees are good but skip the muffins (my blueberry muffin has two berries...I wish I was exaggerating). That being said, you'll eat here because you have no other...
