Very nice sushi spot with only slight little annoyances, but enough to lose one star. Most importantly, the food was pretty good: between the sashimi and nigiri to the other dishes, what I enjoyed the most was the tempura calamari. It was very tasty, and the reduction sauce was a really good touch for the flavor.
But, I did have some slight grievances with the place. First, the entrance is tucked away in a corner the other way around the hotel entrance to the hotel it shares a building with - quite puzzling, though the view from inside is that of the hotel entrance. Second, it is clear that they repurposed the entrance from some little boutique shop that used to be there, and annexed it to the main restaurant itself - although it has a waiting area with a restroom right there next to it, I doubt you'd actually be able to have more than 7 people waiting concurrently. Also, there's only one restroom for both man and women, and it seemed to be a single-occupant version.
Then came the service - it wasn't bad, but at best it was just ok. I didn't feel like the waiter or the lady that brought the dishes cared about me, my family, or or food. They just had to be there because it was their job, and it kinda sucks for that to be the case when we came for the Memorial Day weekend on a 4 hour roadtrip all the way from Seattle...
I'd say this is probably the best Sushi place in Whistler, which is kinda disappointing knowing this is the best the city can offer. But, it is good enough to not feel like you wasted your money, and their 30 Canadian dollar promotion for the Spring season is...

I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been here a few times already. Any town I move to or live in I make it a goal to try every sushi spot!
We went for the Prix Fixe menu as this is the best time to try restaurants in Whistler.
Few notes, it’s a good deal! You don’t feel like you’re being ripped off for the price of $39.
You get 4 course and there’s a lot to choose from but here’s what I picked.
Blue Fin Tuna Tartar (8.6/10) they give you a hearty portion of tuna much more than I was expecting! Flavour profile was pretty good overall but a little heavy on the onion. Biggest issue is they give you 3 wonton chips which wasn’t enough for the ratio of tartar.
Deepfried Softshell crab: (9.5/10) by far the best softshell crab in Whistler! Yes I know it scares some people but it’s one of my favourite dishes to ever exist. If you haven’t tried it before I highly recommend if you can get over the look!
For the main course you get a choice of 2 sushi rolls or 5 Nigiri (personally I find you’ll get better value going for the rolls) I went with the Beautiful Roll, and the Spider roll.
Not shocking I went with the roll with more softshell crab it’s my favourite, sadly this roll lacked actual ingredients inside of it. The beautiful roll on the other hand was fantastic, great texture, great flavour, would recommend!
Dessert is a choice of ice cream mochi ball. They’re pretty tiny but luckily I’m not much of a dessert guy. It’s a nice touch at the end of the meal though.
I’ll...
Read moreFrom the outside this restaurant looks very appealing and online the menu looks great! Unfortunately, due to the negligence of one of the front staff employees, we never got to experience it.
We walked up to the resteraunt Tueaday night at around 7pm and are told that they would have no room for us for the rest of the night. Okay, that's disappointing, but fair. So we go about making a reservation. We have a very clear conversation over the fact that a) they are closed Wednesdays and b) we would be on a plane going back to Toronto on Friday. Meaning Thursday is the only day we have left to make a reservation. Everyone decided on Thursday at 7.
The lady penciled us in and for the next couple of days, we looked forward to this reservation. Thursday comes along and we arrive at the resteraunt stating our reservation only to be told it didn't exist. They had nothing under our names for that day. Turns out we were put in on the Friday even after that whole conversation about how we wouldn't even be in the province that day.
Very disappointed, they only offered us a discount on take out. Seeing as they could in no way make room for us in the resteraunt that night. Being on vacation and hoping to experience the city out and about, we were not interested in taking takeout back to our hotel room for the finale of our vacation.
We were forced elsewhere. If you're looking for amazing sushi in Whistler, go to Sachi Sushi! They really turned the night...
