Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter — Local services in Hong Kong

This is a historically important typhoon shelter constructed after the devastating 1874 typhoon. While today, it shelters more yachts and leisure boats compared to the sampans of the old days, it has long been a place visitors have come to enjoy views of the harbour and to see the boats in shelter. It is also the location of the historical noonday gun.

This autumn, the promenade area at the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter was revitalised and reopened with brick surface walking space, landscaping, seating spots and installations that are child and family friendly.
