Independent bookstores in HK simply refuse to concede to the digital trajectory. And they seems getting stronger by been not only a platform for the readers to acquire books but also a haven for those who seek discernment.
I had to admire that despite the rather inaccessible location of this bookstore high up the 7th floor - via a lift that's starts on the 3RD FLOOR of the building, the customers kept coming in during my time there. But I also had to lament on its expensive plastic bag in the name of stopping the climate change. First, for the same price i was able to get a recycle bag from eslewhere instead of just a plastic bag here amid an supposedly easily decomposable one. Secondly, the total plastic waste that a bookseller might create probably isn't even a tiny fraction of maybe a bubble tea stall would have caused.
