If you intend to visit Macau from Hong Kong or vice versa, this is the best way to travel. The ferries are spacious, usually not crowded, it’s a quick 55 minute journey, minimal sea rocking so won’t be ill, immigration is a breeze and it’s cost effective at around 360HKD or 560HKD return for economy or first class respectively. Checked luggage is 25HKD each but you could carry them on board as there are secure racks. Easy peazy.!! ps: either of the 2 major ferry operators are...

An iconic hongkong mode of transport other than the Electrical Tram.

I always enjoyed taking the Star Ferries across from Tsim Sar Tsui pier to central or wanchai. For me, it is truly an enjoyable experience.

Every time I go to hongkong, I make it a point to take the ferries.

I hope they don't discontinue it in the future and maintain those...
