I had high hopes for The French Bastards—everything looked incredible. I picked up a chocolate babka and a cinnamon babka, both visually stunning. Unfortunately, they were Sahara dry once I bit into them. A real disappointment.
I’m gluten and lactose intolerant, and I usually reserve taking my expensive pills (£2 each) for things that are genuinely worth it—I don’t like wasting them. But I made the exception here, only to end up throwing both pastries in the bin (see photo). With the price of the pastries included, the whole experience cost me over £15.

Read moreVery cute bakery to get some extraordinarily good baked goods for on the go. This is a tiny bakery that serves a variety of pastries and savory baked goods. Everything looked insanely good and the pain au Suisse was loaded with exactly the right amount of chocolate and custard. They continuously bring out new baked goods, ensuring everything is as fresh as possible. They also sell their own recipe book and some other merch. Didn’t see any customer that wasn’t French, suggesting it is a common spot for locals.
