Massage Concept — Local services in Paris

The establishment is easy to find and located in a central location. The front desk girls were friendly and spoke English. Both masseuses were kind, professional, and spoke English as well.

The first time I booked a two-hour custom massage. When I booked the appointment my hip and lower back were in excruciating pain, hence the reason for a two-hour custom massage. Before the massage began, I explained my issues to the masseuse and stated I wanted the focus of the massage to be on my lower back and hips. As the massage progressed it was both enjoyable and relaxing. His pressure was deep (which I had requested) however his focus was not on the areas of concern. In fact, he spent the least amount of time in the areas I had specifically voiced my concern. I am not one to criticize or confront so I laid there waiting and wondering if perhaps he was going to eventually hit the spots I had mentioned. As the massage entered the last half and as I was asked to flip over, I knew my sore lower back and hips weren't going to get the rubdown I had hoped to receive. Nonetheless, the massage was enjoyable and overall my body was more relaxed.

Now for the second experience: I booked a couple’s massage for my husband and I to enjoy a one-hour custom massage. We both stated our areas of concern are our upper and lower back, shoulders, and neck. Once again during my massage, the areas of concern were all together neglected. Instead of receiving a back massage I was given a leg, foot, head, arm, and hand massage. I believe out of the hour spent on the table my back was given about 5-7 minutes of massage time and not consecutively. The massage, albeit not the massage I was hoping for, was relaxing. I would have preferred deeper pressure in some areas but overall, if I had wanted that type of massage, I would have walked away happy.

“Pure magic.” There is simply no other way to describe my experience with Massage Concept à Paris.

It all started with Vanessa at the front desk. I went in person to make my reservation because I had a few questions about the offerings. Vanessa is not only an extremely pleasant and engaging human being, but she is very knowledgeable about the spa’s offerings. In a matter of minutes, I was signed up for two treatments and we then got to know one another a bit better.

Next up was the French massage with Clement. This was my first French massage experience, and it was truly unforgettable. After days of walking around and exploring Paris, my legs were extremely tight and tired. Clement worked his magic, and I felt rejuvenated by the whole experience. He was the consummate professional, and the pressure was just right.

Laura closed me out with a two-hour custom massage the following morning. She listened attentively as I described my ideal massage and trouble points. I truly felt heard during the conversation. And that feeling was spot on. Laura worked wonders on my back and neck (where I am usually the tightest) and I honestly did not want the experience to end. She found each and every knot, even those I had not flagged, and worked them out in a painless manner. Seriously, it was great. I am fairly certain that the first words I uttered when walking in to the main room was, “I feel like a new woman.”

Can't speak on the actual quality of the massage as I didn't end up receiving it.

I called a day prior to my arrival to make a reservation. During this call I stated that I would require to shower before as I would be coming in straight from work. They confirmed this would be fine and told me I would receive an email to confirm my appointment.

Until the next day I had not received this email, so I phoned again to to find out if my appointment was confirmed (nothing was mentioned at this point about the showers not being available).

Upon arriving the next day ( after traveling for 45 mins) I was told the shower would not be possible even though I arrived 10 mins early and no apology or solution was offered. A call could have saved me the effort of atleast travelling there.

Edit: a reply to the comment left by the establishment, I was asked to hurry up and finish my shower in 1 minute. If you're looking to for a relaxing atmosphere, clearly this place will not promote it.
