I apologize for this comment, but since the same attitude was clearly repeated during my last visit, I will mention it here. Chess in particular is unique subject and the lady in the shop should consider the possibility of someone interested in an antique or a tournament set is much more knowledgeable than herself. Her overly directive and interfering attitude is not nice at all. Someone who constantly tries to tell you how to behave is only a sign of beeing an insecure person yourself. The sales prices of relatively old sets are also too high. There's an air of meaningless tension in the shop. You can't even look at a set without her approval, but she starts telling you about the sets one by one with her little knowledge, without paying attention if you are interested on that spesific set or not. A charming and small store with board games and card games and everything in between. they have quite a few “antique” or collectible pieces like old tarot cards and poker chips and it’s a really interesting place.

drops a star because after shopping and deciding to buy one (just one) older poker chip for two euros, as marked, (which is a little steep as it is!) the lady said they weren’t for sale! i’m english, but my partner is french and pointed out the labeled sticker to her with the price and so she reluctantly sold me this single poker chip from a collection of odds and sods… a surreal moment, but...

Ma copine m'a offert un échiquier de cette boutique qui m'avait ravi dans un premier temps. Cependant après quelques mois, il s'avère qu'il y avait un vice sur un des cavaliers noirs qui nous avait été fourni (un creux en bas de la pièce contenant je ne sais quelle matière qui fuit et déteint sur les emplacements de la pièce sur le plateau comme le montre les photos jointes à mon commentaire). Mais le pire dans tout ça, c'est que la boutique ne reconnait pas du tout qu'un des produits en vente chez eux puisse être défectueux au point d'abîmer tout un plateau. Ma copine est revenue chez eux à plusieurs reprises pour leur montrer le vice du cavalier et le dommage qu'il a causé sur le plateau mais rien à faire, selon les vendeurs, cela viendrait de l'humidité ou de je ne sais quoi... il faut être aveugle ou de mauvaise foi pour balancer ce genre de sottise, les photos parlent d'elles-mêmes. Très mauvaise expérience donc avec cette boutique où ni ma copine ni moi n'y mettrons...
