The newest 'granny' on the block - Sly Granny brings all things good from Bangalore. After giving Bangloreans an opulent place to enjoy good food, Sly Granny has now opened up in Khan Market.
The decor is lovely to say the least - Arnold Schwarzenegger wallpapers donning the walls, artefacts that are rare to see and brightly lit interiors take your mood up instantly. Food is another level altogether.
Divided into 3 sections - small plates, tapas and main plates, the menu offers something for everyone. There is equal importance given to presentation and taste and it is perfectly balanced. We have had quite a few items from the menu now and we can say without doubt that whatever you order from the menu, it's certain that you are going to enjoy it to the last bite.
Croque Melt (5/5) - you just can't miss it - this is delight that you will want to have again and again. Grilled Peaches & Brie (4/5) - crisp bread, grilled peaches and brie - need we say more. Barley Salad (4/5) - refreshing, filling with an Indian twist. Pulled Lamb Shoulder (5/5) - pulled lamb served over a brioche and with garden salad - this one's addictive. Barcelona Shrimp (5/5) - simple flavors of garlic, frsh chilli, the freshest prawns and a bread - this one packs a punch.
From the mains - Black Pepper Salmon (5/5) - perfectly cooked to retain the texture, minimally flavored to retain the taste of the fish and served with salad and provencal potatoes - if you like the fish and are looking for the proteins, go for it. Biscuits & Gravy (5/5) - you will love this if you love pork sausages - this one was polished off in no time - slightly tangy and slightly sweet the dish balanced the flavors perfectly. Grilled Lamb Chops (5/5) - we love a lamb chop cooked so that it retains it's juices and it was exactly the case here - again minimal added flavors, which just add to the flavors of the meat than overpowering it - loved it. Sly 9 (5/5) is their tenderloin burger with the juiciest ever tenderloin patty, bacon and cheesem mainly, which already makes it the best burger ever.
In the dessert menu, don't even think of missing Brie En Croute (10/5, if I can) - brie cheese wrapped in a puff pastry and served with honey caramelized sauce - i could eat this for every day of my life such is the flavor and combination of textures that this offers. Panookie (5/5) was the second love from the dessert menu - a choco chip cookie, served with marshmallows and vanilla ice cream - this one's on the must try list...
Read moreEating out in Delhi in a supposedly “fine dining” restaurant is no longer an enjoyable experience as compared to 7-8 years ago. Firstly, they did not have any of the pork dishes that I wanted to order. We finally ordered a vegetarian taco to share and a chicken ravioli for myself. The tacos were… no words to describe how bad. They charge you 480+ for 2 tacos smaller about 4 inches long. The hard shell smelled & tasted like cardboard. The kidney bean filling had no flavour and was just mush. The sour cream served along with it… was NOT sour cream. Honestly, one could fill day old rajma into store bought taco shells and you’d make better tacos at home than these guys. And you won’t be spending close to 250/- for one of them. The chicken ravioli was better but again, for the price the quantity & quality was not justified. It did not have that melt-in-the-mouth feeling that raviolis should have. My friends ordered alcoholic drinks which they found too strong so they asked for additional chasers. And the waiter gave half a can of soda and said “we don’t like to have our drinks watered down as it’s made to a particular recipe so we’re giving just half a can.” So… people can’t choose the level of alcohol they want in this place. It’s ridiculous to have this over expensive menu yet serve barely passable food. So many places in Delhi just need to shut down.
Never visiting this place again and if you’re reading this review, honestly it’s not about saving money, it’s just that you will be left feeling hungry & wondering why you didn’t stay and eat tacos...
Read moreWe ordered two kinds of fish… mine was exceptionally horrible. The fish and chips was so bland romuolade was only mayonnaise… no spice.. no herbs no flavor. The fish batter was soggy and unpleasant.. of course the fish was frozen. This is by far the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The espresso martini did not taste good and was not the spirits they claim to add it in it.. and it was just vodka based. This restaurant believes it’s over the law to charge you a 10% service? What service When you have to wait almost half an hour for food? What service when you have to keep getting off your chair to ask them to come to your table? The place is not worth the exuberant prices and would not recommend it to anyone. The broccoli was raw but portions were odd. Please also maintain the washroom hygiene, I had to clean the toilet before use. STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO PAY SERVICE CHARGE! You are not above the damn law!! They even mentioned in the bill that they tell us before hand about the service charge in small… which was not informed. While leaving we saw a sign “we charge service tax” this is extremely illegal and laughable. Get rid of it before police are sent to deal with it. Prices do not match the quality of this place. It’s disgraceful. However, they did not charge me for the fish and chips but such...
