A Culinary Adventure at Cafe Out of the Box: Khan Market's Hidden Gem
As a fervent food enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems that offer not just a meal, but an experience. My recent visit to Cafe Out of the Box in Khan Market, Delhi, proved to be one such delightful discovery. Nestled in the heart of the city, this multi-storeyed restaurant boasts a captivating ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options.
Upon entering, the first thing that caught my eye was the spacious layout and the vibrant atmosphere. The contemporary design, coupled with a touch of rustic charm, creates the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The cafe is equipped with a large LED screen, ensuring that patrons are not just treated to delicious food but also entertained throughout their visit.
The staff at Cafe Out of the Box deserve a special mention for their impeccable service. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm smiles and attentive service that added to the overall charm of the place. The staff's enthusiasm to make the dining experience memorable was evident in every interaction.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. I started my culinary journey with the Cream De Soup, a delightful puree soup with the choice of tomato, mushroom, or chicken. The rich, velvety texture and the burst of flavors set the tone for what turned out to be a gastronomic delight.
For appetizers, I opted for the tandoori chicken and the oriental chilli garlic fish. The tandoori chicken was perfectly cooked, retaining its juiciness and infused with tantalizing spices. The oriental chilli garlic fish, on the other hand, was a harmonious blend of flavors that left my taste buds craving for more.
Moving on to the mains, I couldn't resist ordering the classic butter chicken with butter naan. The butter chicken was a comforting bowl of goodness, with a luscious tomato-based curry that complemented the tender pieces of chicken flawlessly. The butter naan, soft and fluffy, was the ideal companion to soak up the flavorful curry.
To elevate the experience further, I decided to try their sheesha with pan and kiwi flavor. The aromatic smoke and the unique flavor combinations added an extra layer of indulgence to the evening.
No visit to Cafe Out of the Box would be complete without sampling their cocktails. I opted for the classic whiskey sour, a refreshing red sangria, and the adventurous OTB bomb. The OTB bomb, a wild concoction of vodka, tequila, white rum, gin, whisky, triple sec, and a splash of orange juice, was a true explosion of flavors that left me pleasantly surprised.
In conclusion, my visit to Cafe Out of the Box was nothing short of a culinary adventure. The delightful ambiance, attentive staff, and a menu that caters to diverse palates make this cafe a must-visit in Khan Market. Whether you're looking for a cozy date spot, a place to unwind with friends, or simply a spot to enjoy good food, Cafe Out of the Box has it all. I, for one, am already planning my next visit to savor the holiday vibe that this charming...

~ Drinks - The presentation of the cocktails were top-notch and as the restaurant's name goes, it was out of the box. Most restaurants these days use liquid nitrogen but the way these guys used it made their drinks look even more appealing.
~ ORIENTAL POTLI KEBAB - These pan seared dimsums were fried and served in a shape of a potli. Normally, these fried dishes are really heavy but these were so filling and so light.
~ CHICKEN OLIVE PARCEL - Chunks of chicken served on sticks and were loaded with olive and thyme sauce. Mild on flavors, these were a delight.
~ OTB BURGER PIZZA - My goodnesss! This burger was MASSIVE. It was so juicy, tender and had elements like fries which also gave it a nice crunch. This burger is every burger lover's dream. The sunny side up egg in there was like icing on cake.
~ GOULASH - This Hungarian dish stole my heart. This is the first time I've tried food from this region and did it pay off well. Succulent pieces of lamb tossed in rich paprika seasoned broth and served with rice and greens. It was delish.
~ PANEER TIKKA PATE - I always imagined pate in a non veg category given it's nature. But to make a paste (pate is paste for French) out of paneer tikka is just next level. This dish was so light, so airy and the use of boiled chickpeas and other vegetables made it super refreshing.
~ WALNUT BROWNIE - An ideal walnut brownie for me should be moist, dense, ultra rich, chocolaty and loaded with walnuts. This was just like that.
We were a group of 4 and each person at the table was extremely satisfied at the end of the meal. Without a doubt, this is the place to be if you are looking to have something other than Indian, something even...
Read moreWhen you think of Cafe OTB, Khan Market you would think of it being a fancy Cafe with super professional and premium service, right?
But sadly that's not the case!
I was here for Dinner with my friend on 23rd (11/18). When we took the Table the table was blank, there were, no spoon/forks, no tissues, no Ketchup/Seasonings, nothing! Even the staff didn't bring anything. So we didn't request just grabbed it from side vacant table, seeing this the staff got us a Tissue Stand. We did get the Menus though!
In first 5 mins, we weren't even offered water, it came on request and the presentation was so unprofessional! The glasses were all watery from outside and the staffs' hands were wet! Yuck!
After placing the order I went to wash my hands in the washroom and to my surprise, the Men Washroom was dirty AF on the Basin side with the Dustbin overloaded, the Washroom sucked! On getting back to the table my friend went to use the female washroom and it was even in a worse Condition, stinking as hell! Would you expect this level of pathetic hygeine from a premium Khan Market Restaurant?
We ordered one Chef's Special Half Moon Spanish Pizza, and one Penne Alferdo Mix Sauce Pasta.
Pizza - Unlike all of their other Pizzas come in a Rectangle Space, in 12/16 pieces. This one was actually in a Half Moon Shape, double the size of Domino's Mexian Taco you can say, and you pay over 600 bucks for it! Kindly refrain from ordering this one! It's not filling at all for that size in that price.
Pasta - It was really good, I must say. Quality & Quantity, both!
Since it cold and my friend down with Cold, we thought of ordering some Hot Beverage! In Winters Evening, they don't have Tea/Coffee available, which is really sad! The staff literally told me, we do not take Tea/Coffee orders in the evening because the Cheff creates a fuss! Really?
Overall, if you are 2 people and are willing to spend around 2000 bucks for a Lunch/Dinner, would strongly recommend you to SKIP this place! It's not worth the money! There are plethora of places in Khan Market in this budget, Big Chill being one.
