The Big Chill Cakery — Restaurant in New Delhi

Everytime I use to ask someone for places to try in Khan Market this would pop up on every recommendation list. I have visited this place twice in the span of two years and the food has been very promising & consistent as well. So, first things first it is always difficult to get a Table here & they do not take Reservations hence leave a little early and avoid visiting on weekend if you cannot wait for long durations. The Menu is super huge and very confusing one will be easily confused deciding what to order, so feel free to ask for recommendations from the staff.

Canelloni with Red Pesto & Ricotto - Loved tje canelloni, the pasta was rolled perfectly, the stuffing inside was flavourful and tasted good.

Calzone Pizza - After the Pizza, this dint seem that good. I have definately had better Calzone pizzas the bell peppers stuffed inside were sliced too big so they kept calling out of the pocket with every bite.

Four Seasons Pizza - Oh, this was one hell of a Pizza, the mushrooms and the Sundried Tomato toppings enhanced the taste of this Pizza, highly recommended.

Penne Primavera - Red sauce pasta with brocolli & mushroom we customized the vegetables according to our taste preferance.

Spaghetti Putanesca - Spaghetti pasta is a personal favourite so ended up ordering this, black olives, garlic & capers make for the perfect toppings.

Fettuccini Quattro Formagi - Flat pasta that was cooked perfectly in a cheesy sauce this is every cheese lovers dream.

Missisippi Mud Pie - Two layers of icecream, dark chocolate & coffee topped with warm thick chocolate sauce this is one indulgent dessert for those who love a good bitter dessert. I personally was not a fan it was too bitter for my liking.

Visited this place for the 1st time since we wanted to have some nice cake & cappuccino. It’s a known brand and hence an ideal choice. We ordered for strawberry cream cheese cake. It was the last piece left and we even checked if it was fresh or not. Once confirmed we took it. It was hopeless not even an ounce of flavour of cream cheese. Ddnt seem fresh either. Seemed like the strawberry juice had oozed out leaving them tasteless.a single pastry costs Rs 350 plus and it’s way too expensive. Strawberry dreamy cake was still better with some fresh strawberries. Carrot cream cheese cake was still ok but not good. Cappuccino was average. Too much froth and not hot. They were like it can’t he done hot. Finally microwaved it to make it hotter. They barely have eggless cakes., The cakery is not cosy. A few small round tables and 2 chairs on each table. Service & attitude is not at par. On giving a feedback to the staff at counter he is not even listening. When i stated that you are not even listening he looked up and asked the other staff as to what I was saying. We gave a feedback to Bernard too the manager out there but he was in no mood to acknowledge. He was like I’ll share with the chef and I can’t do anything about it. We have spent almost Rs 400 on a pastry, which is nowhere worth it and poor taste. Atleast have the courtesy to acknowledge and do something about it. I am a regular customer of cakery (like god knows this place has raised my blood sugar so much) and I genuinely love big chill but was really disappointed by my experience recently. I had taken a few cakes and cookies recently and the blueberry cake was so bitter it was unedible. Its kind of an aftertaste but it takes over the taste of the cake and I had multiple members of my family taste it and they felt the same. Then I called the cakery store to inform them of the quality issues but they would not even acknowledge that it was an issue. The manager just kept justifying it. I was not even expecting any refund or anything just genuinely wanted to report quality control issues.

They are a really popular store so I guess they know they will sell things regardless of customer feedback, and I think they need more competitors to improve their quality now.

I would say for the price its expensive and 50% of their cakes are really good but 50% miss the mark. So yeah don’t get the blueberry cake at all!

Also the chocolate raspberry cake did not have any raspberry flavor.

If you have to get anything their tiramisu, seasonal strawberry cake, banoffee pie and cookies are good, but some desserts I have had like the summer fruit bavarian, strawberry dreamy cake, chocolate fudge and tres leches have all were not worth it! And beyond that taste is individual preference but if something tastes awfully wrong I would expect some acknowledgement especially as a customer who has spent alot...
