Siam Odyssey (Nagoya Hill Mall) — Local services in Batam City

We have been visiting Thai Odyssey every time we are in Batam. We thought they have changed their name of the place after Covid, so we walked in for the massage as the services cannot be booked online already. The interior of the place is exactly the same and receptionists are nice. (ps: you can never walk in to Thai Odyssey cause they are always fully booked online)

We opted for the Thai Aromatherapy Massage for 90mins.

My experience: My masseur hand signalled me to change out my shoes and proceed to wash my foot. She was done in a few mins and walked off. Once upstairs, I was told to change and she will come back later. I was done in a few mins and she came back after a very long time. She came in with the ginger tea and ask if I want to drink not a very nice way. After that she started her massage routine with no strength at all, just dancing around on the surface. It was so light with no kneading at all. After I was told to turn, she announced that she will be washing her hands and a good 10 to 15 mins was gone. After a really long time, she came back but this time she did put some strength (means she have strength but unwilling to put strength for most of the massage). After the massage, it felt like I did not go for the massage at all. I was fighting with myself if I should give her tips since I really dont like her service but its tough to be a masseur. In the end I gave her $20k tips to her when she signalled to take my shoes. She flipped the money v loudly as if to indicate that it was so little. The whole experience, her attitude was really bad.

My partner experience: Same with his masseur that he fell asleep since there was no strength at all. He didnt give any tips as he was very unhappy with the massage.

Overall, we will not go back again. Its a waste of time and money and we have been to better massage places in batam. Highly not...

Overrated place. Went there via walk-in on October 23th because reservation is fully booked, I saw the reviews here and there over social media and it's definitely too overrated. The environment is nice, you will be impressed when you walk into the shop, but after that when it comes into service, it is so horrendous.

Went with my girlfriend, we took Thai Aromatherapy Massage for 120mins.

My experience: Knowing this is a gentle massage experience, but masseur is just way too soft, I felt like she is just touching my body with oil. 90% of the time is just rubbing my body, shoulder part is ok. I was about to ask my masseur to press slightly harder, but I can hear her hand muscle is coming out noise and I scare if I request this she might cramp anytime.

My partner experience: Her masseur has a better strength during the massage, but what that worry is, her masseur fell asleep during the massage! She nearly fell down to the floor during massage and my partner have to ask her is she ok or not. This experience is quite scary as we will think the shop doesn't really care about her staff health condition.

My friend and I visited on August 9 at 3 pm. The place is clean, and the masseuses are skillful. The staff at the reception are polite and speak good English.

However, it seems like the masseuses try to cut short the massage time. My friend and I both paid for 90-minute massages; my service ended after 70 minutes. I asked the masseuse twice if my 90-minute service had finished, and she kept showing me her timer, which showed “00:00.” I then went to the reception to check with the staff, who were very helpful and had the masseuse make up for the remaining time. I thought it was an accident, but later, my friend told me that her masseuse showed her the timer for 1 hour 30 minutes before the massage. However, when the session was over and after she had changed, she saw that the timer still had 11 minutes left. The masseuse tried to make her stay in the room to finish her tea and looked uncomfortable when she wanted to drink outside.

We suspect that this is a common problem, which is why the masseuses are all given timers. Do make sure to check the timer before and after the service to deter this cheating behavior. It's such a pity because we really liked the massage, but our experience was badly...
