We've visited Portofino before. In Corona times. And it was busy even then. Now of course it was even busier.

But it's a place worth visiting. The town itself is pretty compact and easy to walk. The main attraction and heart of it is of course the Marina with the boats, Yachts and all the colorful buildings. And the Castle sitting on top of the hill, overlooking the Marina.

There are some special events sometimes. Like this time. Wine, cheese, meat. All kinds of things to taste and buy right on the Marina.

Get a drink in a restaurant or Cafe to watch the world go by. Or bring some picnic with and sit down on one of the many benches around the Marina.

This time we left the car in Santa Margherita, where we stayed for a few days and took the bus here and the ferry back. Way better and easier. Parking is limited and expensive. It's best to take the public transportations if possible.

Portofino is a pretty town. But don't miss out on Santa Margherita, Lerici or Camogli. All...

Portofino is truly beautiful. It's well worth the visit and if you're already vacationing in Cinque Terre then consider the trip over. It's about a 1.25 hr train ride from Monterosso to San Margherita then a 15 min ferry ride over to Portofino.

Portofino is obviously a place of wealth with great places to eat and enjoy a spritz or gelateria. The cost is on par with most other tourist hot spots in the area. However, what makes Portofino unique is the additional scenery. The town is picturesque Italian, but the marina adds to the atmosphere. Beautiful yachts and huge sailboats occupy the marina. I'm assuming most all those ships you see off the coast of the Cinque towns are docking here quite...

1 day itinerary/things to do in Portofino🇮🇹 which I got to experience during my stay at the amazing @grandhotelbristol that provides a private transfer and is located only 20 mins by car from Portofino:
☕️Start your day at Piazza Martiri dell’Olivetta: Begin your day at the central square, admire the colorful buildings and grab a coffee at Bar Mariuccia while soaking in the ambiance and people-watching 🥐 Try a croissant at Calata 32, one of the best I’ve had in a long time! they also have gelato😋 👙Visit Baia Cannone: a small beach located just a few mins away from the piazza. Relax on the pristine shores, soak up the sun, and take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters 🛥️Explore the Portofino Harbor: take a leisurely stroll along the promenade, enjoying the picturesque views and admiring the boats 🏰Discover Castello Brown: Climb up to a historic castle perched on a hilltop. Entrance fee is €5 and you can enjoy the best panoramic views of Portofino, the harbor, and explore the castle’s gardens ⛪️Visit the Church of San Giorgio: From the church’s viewpoint, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views of Portofino and the church is really lovely as well 👣Explore the narrow alleys: Take some time to wander through the streets of Portofino, appreciating the charming architecture, quaint shops, and local boutiques
