I don't usually do long reviews, but this place deserves it. The hardest restaurant to run is probably a fish restaurant, even worse when seasonal, and way worse when at the heart of a super touristy area such as Portofino. It's probably hard to show up daily and deal with the ignorance of the clientele which must be as insufferable as the continuous heat and the difficulty of finding the right products.
I don't know these guys who run this place, but considering how well they do it I wish I did. My meal was almost insanely amazing with some stunningly fresh local ingredients (see photos which I never take). The octopus dish was super pro, but the seafood spaghetti (boring you would think) was more than pro, was a work of love.
Its impossible to keep this quality day in and day out while half your orders are prosciutto e melone so cut these fine gentlemen some slack when not everything is perfect.

Read moreWe were in Portofino on a rainy day and wanted to warm up in a restaurant. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at noon. We decided to play fair to the restaurant and order a plate for two instead of just drinks. The response we got was : just one plate ? The waiter was about to send us out. We finally discussed with him and convinced him that he was winning in accepting us in an empty Restaurant ;). We were disappointed by the reaction, their attitude that was only directed towards money. The food was very good, although it is above average expensive for Italy ! To give you an idea, you pay 6 euros for one small cappuccino... Just be aware of this if you...

I do not understand how this has such a big mark. The “lasagna” is basically two boiled lasagna sheets with some green pesto and costs 20 euros. The coperta is 4 euros per person, but it is made of some store bought grisini and 4 thinly sliced stale bread. To add, an apperitivo is 15 euros which is outragious as it is as expansive as a drink in a posh restaurant in central London. This was not in the menu, so I expect that they inflated the price. The interior is not great either, so no justification for the high...
