Not able to visit the Colosseum with the tickets bought at this official ticket office in front of the Roman Forum, what a joke!!!!!   As indicated on all the offical information, the combinedRoman Forum, Palatine Hill and Colosseum ticket is valid for 2 days, with one entry for each site. But in fact: this ticket office in front of the Roman forum book the Colosseum visit time 10 minutes after you buy the tickets, without explain or informing you. So we entered the Roman forum which was just at the ticket office. And after, we could not enter the Colosseum because our booked time slot was passed. When we returned to this ticket office for explannation or solutions, they were just very rude, no solution except we re-queue and buy a new full ticket. In fact, the roman forum and the Palatine are connected, so once enterred, you need to finish the visit at once in one day. In addition, the Colosseum visit time is booked by them. So it is not a 2 day ticket for three sites at all. What a shame for this UNESCO...

Today my partner and I went to visit the forum. As we are both university researchers in relevant fields, we were allowed a free entry. However, the woman at the ticket office would not accept our university cards, claiming that she could not understand what was written on them, even though we did translate it for her form German to Italian. After that, we showed her different prove of our affiliation in English, which she still was very reluctant to accept. In the end, after what were surely 5 minutes she had googled the English and German terms and, realizing that she had no choice but to concede the free tickets to us– threw them at us at if it was her who had to pay for our entry. This spot is located just a 5-minute walk away, on Via della Salara Vecchia, and the line here is always much shorter, even though they sell the same exact ticket.
