We saw this passing by on our gondola ride. What made me want to go was the older lady waving to us. She was smiling so naturally and warmly that I knew this was a welcoming place for us to eat at this night. This was one of the owners and this was before they had opened for the evening. As soon as our ride was over I found it and we were lucky they took us a family of six without a reservation since we came right at opening time. It quickly became packed but we were not disappointed. The food was excellent at a reasonable price for Venice and the waiters were friendly and quick. The ambience of the passing gondolas couldn’t be beat and we had a terrific time- 2 adults with 4 kids. There was a great variety on the menu for everybody to leave feeling full and satisfied. The place lives up to its reputation and we were not surprised to hear from the waiter that this restaurant has been under the same family ownership for more than 70 years! You can tell they love what they do and they do it well! Come here for an authentic Venetian experience at a price that is most reasonable for a tourist destination like Venice! The food is fresh, delicious, and the variety is satiating for all palates!

Just a note- anyone who is cheap and inconsiderate should do everyone a favor and stay away from this place and better yet don’t bother reviewing this place and trying to ruin a great restaurant’s reviews… the food is excellent, the service excellent, and the location cannot be beat. Everything comes at a cost. If you have the money to come here then spend it here as well or just stay home. People need to make a living and that includes waiters and staff at restaurants. The service charge is very nominal as a tip. In the USA 20-25 percent is expected as a rule of thumb on a bill and the cover charge is also to cover the bread, etc. in a time of high inflation their prices were still reasonable and really a bargain I would say for those who want the experience of fine dining with a canal and gondola view in a quiet and serene location. I am actually surprised that there are so many losers out there who pay thousands of dollars to travel here and pay who knows what to the tourist attractions but then they are too cheap to pay for this great experience. It’s mind boggling. Like I said - if you’re cheap just stay home and believe me - somebody else will gladly...

Restaurant with no respect with customers! I had made a reservation for my wedding anniversary in advance. On the appointed day, I took a gondola ride with my husband beforehand to celebrate it and I took a champagne to toast. After all, I wanted it to be a perfect day! After leaving the gondola, which was right in front of the restaurant, I placed the champagne on one of the tables to help my husband to get all things out the gondola. A man (I don't know if he was the owner) came with ignorance, rudely saying that I couldn't support anything on the table. I apologized and explained that I had a reservation for this date due to my wedding anniversary and this very rude man didn't even want to listen to me, he treated me really badly and kicked me out of the restaurant without even listening to me. I've never seen anything like this and I have never felt so humiliated in my entire life! He doesn't have the minimum empathy with a client who was still celebrating the wedding anniversary. He ruined a moment on such a special date. This restaurante is too expensive and should at least have a good service and treat customers well. Good service is everything in a restaurant and I definitely don't recommend...

AVOID This Restaurant at All Costs!

If you're looking for a dining experience that's as disappointing as it is expensive, look no further this place. Save yourself the hassle and the hefty bill by steering clear of this establishment. Here's why:

Overpriced: Prepare to empty your wallet for a meal that's far from worth it. Prices are exorbitant, leaving you feeling fleeced rather than satisfied.

Tiny Portions: Don't expect to leave feeling full. The portion sizes are laughably small, leaving you hungry for more and regretting your decision to dine here.

Mediocre Taste: For the price you're paying, you'd expect a burst of flavor with every bite. Unfortunately, the food here falls flat, with taste that's decidedly average at best.

Hidden Charges: Beware of the sneaky additional charges. On top of an already inflated bill, you'll be slapped with a €3 per person fee, plus a mandatory 12% service charge. And that's not all—you're also required to buy food for every person in your party, making it impossible to just grab a drink without shelling out more cash.

Save yourself the headache and disappointment by giving this place a hard pass. Your taste buds—and your...

I am writing this as a restaurant reviewer with over 100 visits to all type of Michelin star restaurants but also as somebody who love basic and good food. This is my personal view and you might have a different experience. Summary: Good location with service issuers and standard food. Location: This is the aaset of the restaurant. Located at a nice channel’s with lots of traffic from gondolas. Outside sitting area is really nice. Inside it still mills ok but there I would definitely recommend other restaurants in Venice. Food: Very standard. My steak was not superior and very much overpriced. The fish was ok as well. Timing as it was served was not good. Service: This is the bad thing here. Not remember who ordered what. Issues with seating. Bad behavior when I was going to the bathroom. Not acceptable and the main reason for the one star. Sorry. Please deliver for the price you ask. There are better options. Extra: location location location.

We came here for lunch on a weekday, choosing this spot because it offers seating along a canal. The staff was helpful and friendly and we got a nice seat right along the canal. Their menu is filled with appealing local eats, many including seafood. They have an interesting carafe menu for their wine, you can get wine by the glass, or in various milliliter amounts up to a liter, so we chose a liter of chardonnay. That wine was amazing, and only 17eu! We started by splitting their salad and that salad was beautiful and tasty! Made with fresh ingredients, it was excellent when dressed with simply EVOO and balsamic! Our entrées were also excellent. I loved their pesto in the Maltagliati Scampi e Pesto! The shrimp in it offered a nice flavor too! The Tagliatelle ai Funghi Porcini was a huge hit as well, especially with is being porcini season! Definitely would recommend stopping in, but make a reservation, they seem to get busy quickly!
