I did both morning and afternoon tours. Below are my reviews...
Free morning walk tour with La Bussola - 5/5 This is quite a last minute plan for us, husband and wife. We signed up like night before this tour, and luckily we still have the spot. This is truly worth it! So happy we did this 3-hour walking tour!!very thoughtful of them to have a solely english speaking tour!!! Volunteer-tour guide, Shannon is well-experienced and rich in Venice’s history! We learned alot from her. Very patience and accomodating to us who asked alot of questions. In this free walking tour, she brought us to places where you as a tourist will just passed by and may neglect, not thinking of going in. There’s also surprises along the way, which i’ll just keep it a secret and for you to find out! I will strongly recommend this walking tour. And since it’s free, please do not expect so much - like those organized tours with microphones, etc... this is good enough to explore Venice in a morning without spending a single cent. The ending point was not where you meet up, just need to find your way back to your hotel or where you are heading to by yourself.
Free afternoon walk tour with La Bussola - 4/5 After the morning tour, we decided to carry on with the free afternoon walk tour. It’s also worth it! To explore the other side of Venice! Our english volunteer-tour guide was Martell. He also good and knowledgeable. We surely enjoyed this tour and not a waste of time. It’s just that the ending point is not where we started and need to figure out how to go back to our hotel... another exploration for us,...
Read moreWe did the evening tour with Adam, and I can't stress enough how amazing he was. Adam and the other members are not typical tour guides. They each have their own personality (not reading from a script) and personalised recommendations (also available on their website).
We arrived in Venice at 5pm and I immediately booked the evening tour. It took about 3h and I wish it had gone longer, but Adam needs his rest for his studies.
The evening tour is less about history and more about the art and art history of Venice. Adam was a fountain of information, both artistic info and just local advice and suggestions. We took up several of his suggestions and were not disappointed.
10/10 I would absolutely recommend this tour. It's completely free and you have the option of tipping the guide whatever you feel the tour was worth.
Honestly, everyone needs to book this evening tour with Adam! Venice is completely safe to walk around at night. This is coming from a petite Asian (I've never felt more like a tourist) woman, who never once felt insecure walking around Venice after midnight during my entire stay. I had a great time roaming the empty (but not devoid of life) streets with the group of about 10 ppl.
Ps: sometimes Adam has to dog sit so you get to help walk an adorable medium...
Read moreNezka was amazing on the grand tour!
This was not the first time I was taking a walking tour but I'm glad to say it's been a fantastic and unique experience everytime. Last time it was with Oscar on my first day in Venice and then Nezka the amazing grand tour guide added icing to the cake!
Even though I had seen many of the places before during my first tour, it was a completely different experience this time around. Also this tour is highly recommended for solo travellers like me who want to see as much of such a magical city as Venice in as short a time as possible and get all the flavor and feel without feeling I missed out on anything and that is exactly what the grand tour was able to provide me with!
The best part about the tour and especially if you're travelling solo is you get to meet so many new awesome people and who knows you might find friends for a lifetime like I did on my solo trip to Venice ❤
So next time you are procrastinating on whether to take the tour or if this looks like a scam..trust an honest and passionate traveller and push that register...
