I tried to go to this place about 2 one day and the kitchen had closed. So, I came back as it is near my hotel. I am traveling solo and was seated immediately in the cozy dining area with, thankfully, no music playing and lit well. I had the ravioli with smoked ricotta and cinnamon. It ended up being tortellini filled with very pureed spinach and ricotta and topped with shaved smoked ricotta, all in a generous amount of butter-cinnamon sauce. I really liked it, and if the entire meal were based on this, it would have scored a five. I also ordered a grilled branzino (bass-like fish) primo. Now, the menu didn't mention any sides, but a bone-in, skin on, head on skimpy grilled fish with a few leaves of arugula on the plate does not exactly a dish make. After fighting with bones and having what amounted to 2 oz of meat, maybe, my main was finished. That was a €19 item in a cafe with paper placemats. I don't know what's worth €19, but it wasn't labor or materials or anything else. But, if enough people don't call it out, nothing will change.
Had a decent €5 glass of prosecco and bought a bottle (plastic, small) of water at an undisclosed price. Bread was out in the table, but after trying a bit I left it all in the basket.
It seems like just one waitress doing everything. She was very sweet and respectful but obviously rather rushed when the tables were full. They need to recruit a boy to bus tables. She busses tables and crushes plastic bottles by the bar. Too much...
Read moreThe service was great (lady was really nice and trying her best assisting us in English as we don’t speak Italian). We ordered a Caprese salad, tortellini with mushrooms/bacon (for me) and a pork steak (for my boyfriend). The tortellini arrived with the salad so I had the option to eat cold or not wait (I tried to wait but it took more than 10 min). No sauce at the tortellini and bacon was actually ham (not bad, but not what i was expecting as i thought it would have some sauce). Caprese was ok but instead of basil, it had only arugula. The pork was very basic and not much flavors. We asked for grilled vegetables and it came with a salad with overripe tomatoes. The Aperol Spritz you can skip - it wasn’t great (I think it’s the house prosecco - it was too sweet). Not the greatest, but just ok if...
Read moreThe 4,1 stars are completely unwarranted. From the service to the ambiance to the food, this restaurant was one if the worst I have ever visited. When we arrived, the waiter rushed past us, practically pushing us to the side, and seemed totally stressed and unfriendly, though the restaurant was at most half full. He remained unwelcoming throughout our stay. The tables and decor seemed not well cared for, dusty, unrepaired. We almost left, but decided sometimes the food is even better at places like this… we were wrong. In addition to many of the dishes not being available (and the menu was very small),the food was terrible, slapped on the plate with no care at all. Unappetizing is all I can say, and it didn’t make up for it in taste. Would NOT...
